As well, I don't like the added chance of injury. That says it all. The read - option belongs in college.

I actually expect a team like Washington to move away from it as Griffin develops as a passer. It's been my impression that relying on more of a college offense has been done to help transition a guy like that to the NFL, and isn't necessarily what they plan to do for the next decade.I think that is quite accurate, but make no mistake the teams are getting further, and further away from the traditional drop back in the pocket QB. The question is for how long? And, even if they truly prefer the pocket passers there are fewer being developed in college.
twitter is right next to wikipedia as sources...I've never understood the hate academia has for wikipedia. 9.5/10 is it pretty accurate, and in a format that is great for learning about a topic. Nevermind that wikipedia's articles are cited themself.
I can't recall another time, in the modern era of the NFL, where the best athlete on the field more often than not is the Quarterback. That said it is never a good idea to start using a successful offensive package in year 2 especially if if leads to your QB getting hit. Tannehill will be dangerous with his legs when he gets a better feel for the game.

Joe Philbin was high on Matt Barkley & Tyler Wilson last year .i think we would of had Matt as are qb if he came out last year.Plus he already said he like drafting QB in 3rd & 4th round picks like he did in Green bay..I am not sure where you get this stuff, but it is simply not true. You don't have to be very intelligent to realize Tannehill was their guy all along. Now whether or not he works out is a different issue, but no coach is going to tie himself to a QB he does not want. He brought Sherman here knowinig what was to come. Ross brought in Philbin knowing his plan.
potential for great accuracyLet's hope so. That is the key as far as I am concerned. He looks like he belongs, but the accuracy must improve.
