Boeheim's blowup

February 19, 2013 8:30 pm

Hey Jonvi, 35,000 + for Saturday. I don't think they are paying any attention what so ever to JB calling an idiot an idiot. No matter how it bothers haters, 35,000+ in the Dome Saturday for on-campus basketball. Haha, I think it is some kind of record. Jealous is what jealous does. Reminds me of that movie...."You can't handle the truth"!

I think I have two extra tickets, how much ya willing to give up?

Boeheim's blowup

"The Jayhawks 23 straight appearances in the NCAAs may well be the longest such streak in the country, but their streak of winning seasons falls well short of Syracuse's -- by 20 years, in fact. SU's last losing season: 1968-69. Last .500 season: 1969-70. And nothing but winning since then. 43 straight, the longest -- by far -- in the nation  Laughing"

I didn't say "winning seasons". I said "seasons of winning AT LEAST 23 GAMES". Big difference.

Boeheim's blowup

Ain't kidding, had two folks bail on me, the ones from Richmond. The same ones that I flew to the UK for. It's all good. The wife is trying to find buyers, the original owners are willing to take a hit and if they don't, I will.

Section 315, but you would have to sit with me the wife and a friend.

"I really don't care what a person's opinion regarding a given subject; what I care about is your lack of maturity in your delivery.  You are narcissistic and condescending and you don't have the moral compass to know when you offend folks or the deceincy to apologize when questioned; or even worse, maybe you just don't care. "

Oh, this is RICH. I am the only one upset that Boeheim acted with no moral compass or that anyone seems to have enough moral compass to be bothered by it a I am the one with the morality issue? YOu should work for Fox News...

"That's fine, but expect to be called out when  your adolescent behavior rears it's ugly head."

Again, it's ME with the adolescent behavior because I have dared to speak up about Boeheim's adolescent behavior. The irony is just dripping now... Come on, hit us with another one...

"I am happy to discuss anything with anybody, but I won't accept your arrogant and/or consescending behavior because it's no longer a discussion; it's a lecture."

No you aren't. You are happy to discuss "anything" that is only in agreement with your line of thinking. I have no interest in whether or not you "accept" my behavior. Your opinion means nothing to me. By being OK with Boeheim acting like a spoiled child, you have cast your vote on your opinion of acceptable adult behavior. I find it refreshing that someone who feels like Boeheim is justified to act like a little child is bothered by my opinion. Thank goodness. That means I am doing something right.

Yes, I see that now. Perhaps not your best writing, but whatever. Frankly, though, 23 is a convenient number for KU fans, not that it isn't a fine accomplishment. For me, I'd rather have the 43 straight winning seasons.

"Frankly, though, 23 is a convenient number for KU fans, not that it isn't a fine accomplishment."

If you want to dumb it down to consecutive 20 win seasons, go ahead. KU still has the longest streak running. It's not a convenient fact, just a fact.
"For me, I'd rather have the 43 straight winning seasons."

I'll take 24 straight years of very good over 43 straight years of better than mediocre any day.

You have nothing to do with this conversation. And if the best you have to offer to it is lame name calling then do us a favor and stay out of it.

And KU's streak of winning seasons is 30 and counting and I don't expect it to be ending any time soon. How comfortable are you in Syracuse once Boeheim retires in the next few years?

That sums it up nicely and I agree.    At one time, I thought twocoach actually brought something to the table with some good insight until I realized he was all about himself and really never considered the other guy's position.  I used words like Rude, Narcisistic, arrogant and  condescending  to describe his behavior.  Now I see those words simply don't do the job. I like your's better...Moron....and how about JERK...that probably is the best description of all.  I'll not be responding to anything he posts until I see some better manners and maturity....and that might be awhile.

"At one time, I thought twocoach actually brought something to the table with some good insight until I realized he was all about himself and really never considered the other guy's position. "

How is my dislike with Boeheim's reaction about ME? Answer me that?

"I used words like Rude, Narcisistic, arrogant and  condescending  to describe his behavior. "

Rude? Probably at times. i am harsh when I have a strong opinion of something I see as poor or dishonorable behavior. Narcissistic? Maybe you should look up the definition of this word. Arrogant? Sometimes, but that's mostly because I am confident in my beliefs and opinions and when that is pointed towards the postings of others, people with thin skin or shaky beliefs can get easily offended. Condescending? By technical terms, yes. Because I don't think much of people who are OK with poor behavior. But I don't see expecting good behavior and not respecting those who are OK with poor behavior as a character flaw.

"I'll not be responding to anything he posts until I see some better manners and maturity....and that might be awhile.  "

Well then these boards will be a slightly higher quality as a result. If you are so thin-skinned that you cannot handle someone disagreeing with your post, then you are not the type of person that should be using a message board. I did not say anything about you personally. If you are not confident enough in what you post that you cannot handle if someone disagrees with it, then you should not be using a message board. If your point is so flimsy that you cannot argue the topic of the point and have to resort to personal attacks, then you should not be using a message board.

How many posts in a row is this that you have made on this thread where you have not even MENTIONED the topic? You do remember what we are actually talking about here, right?

Trust me, the lack of posts from you will help us stay on topic and have a logical discussion about the topic instead of your childish name calling. I hope you stay true to your word and stop posting so we can resume the conversation.

Boeheim's blowup

February 20, 2013 12:16 pm

"Very. Thanks for asking."

Do I hear right that Boeheim's eventual successor is one of his current assistants similar to Kevin Ollie at UConn? Mike Hopkins, correct? I read that he has been a key in recruiting and devloping the good guards that the Orange have had. I don't know much about Boeheim's staff or the specifics, so I am interested in hearing what Syracuse fans think about the situation. Not trying to be a smarta$$, just genuinely interested in the particulars. We don't get much coverage of the in-house details of eastern teams here in the midwest. Plus, I like to hear it from a fanbase's perspective. They typically have their finger on the pulse of what is really going on.

Syracuse has great facilities and a solid fanbase and I am always a fan of the big programs remaining strong. College basketball is always a better product to enjoy when teams like Syracuse, Carolina, Duke, UConn, UCLA, Indiana and Kansas have strong teams. Smaller programs like Butler and Gonzaga are still decades away from having a true national following. They are headed the right direction, but it takes time. Let me know some more if you're interested.
