Kansas not even an option considering they could put Paul Pierce, Danny Manning and the most dominant player of all time Wilt Chamberlain on the same court together?  And plenty of options in the backcourt to compliment them.

The 1975-76 Indiana Hoosiers: The TEAM included three All-Americans and was the last undefeated team.  Pretty hard to top that team.  (Michigan tried, playing them in the 1976 NCAA final.)

IU and Michigan played three times that year.  How great was that undefeated IU team?  They beat the second best team three times.

Shouldn't we be considering teams that won back to back Championships like maybe the mid-sixties, early seventies UCLA teams that went 30-0 and won 7 in a row??? Like 67/68, John Wooden team or the next year, the 3rd yr in a row with Karim Abdul-Jabbar as a senior and their 3rd championship!

Seems to me they both had reasons or they would have reached an agreement, but then again Creen doesn't look like the sharpest crayon in the box just sayin!

Joe-Will, I took it as the single greatest all time team....if they could accomplish multiple Championships and dominating wins in that fashion....even though nobody but great Grampa remembers it, UCLA

Phil Ford, Charlie Scott, Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Brad Daughtery. Only UCLA's all time team with Bill Walton and Kareem in the paint could give Carolina's team a run for its money, every other team not so much.

Neither do you.. just sayyyinnn..

And I'm pretty sure Crean tried to... what's that word? Compromise? By, making a 4 year deal, two neutral court games and two home and home games. That sounds pretty fair to me considering it was Kentucky trying to change the sites. Not going to get into a big argument about this again, just stating the facts.

Anyway, Indiana 75-76. Pretty sure it was named the greatest team ever by CBS last year.

What a shocker you think Crean was the good guy in this. Who really cares that CBS named them the greatest team ever, who are they that is an opinion just like my opinion that Crean ain't the sharpest crayon in the box! Look ya got a good team this year and notice I said good not great, and my cats ain't all that this year, so I expect some squawking from you IU fans just hope ya stick around for next season good luck in the tourney you probably have the best team this year but from the top teams to choose from this year that don't mean much.

It's top team when considering all the players a team has ever had, not the best team for a single year. That said, Kansas should be able to compete with anyone:

PG: JoJo White
SG: Bud Stallworth
SF: Paul Pierce
PF: Danny Manning
C: Wilt Chamberlain

And that's not even factoring in a number of All-Americans and National Players of the Year coming off the bench, like Kirk Hinrich, Nick Collison, Drew Gooden, Thomas Robinson, Clyde Lovellete, Dave Robisch, Brandon Rush, Charlie Black, Paul Endacott, Sherron Collins, Darnell Valentine, and Raef LaFrentz.

On a side note, KU fans, we really need to stop over-inflating Mario Chalmers' value based on the shot he hit against Memphis. He was absolutely a terrific player for us for several years, but he wasn't even the best player on those teams, that was Brandon Rush. You can make the argument that he deserved to be the first one to have his jersey retired, based on that shot, but by no stretch of the imagination does he deserve to be called KU's greatest shooting guard ever.
