After watching him for 4 years at ND, I'd say he would be a good replacement for Jahvid Best.  I think we can grab him in the later rounds.  He has that elusiveness and shiftiness that we need out of the backfield.  He could be a very good compliment to Leshoure and his more power style.  Riddick also has great hands.  Just my $.02

He's not as fast as Jahvid, but he is very quick in and out of his cuts. He's also a bit stronger. He was supposed to be the backup to Cierre Wood but ended up taking a ton of carries away from him. Plus, he has no injury history. :)

Detroit needs a running back that can make people miss and is elusive in the open field.  The only thing comparible to Best and Riddick is their size.  Best is 1/2 an inch taller, Riddick weighs 1 lb more.  That is where the comparisons stop though.

Riddick is a grinder who doesn't mind turning it upfield and taking hits.  He is basically a smaller version of what we already have in LeShoure and Bell.  What Detroit needs is a speed RB, who can take a dump pass and turn it into a 20+ yard gain.  Riddick is not that type of player.

Wouldn't be a bad pick to add depth in the 6th or 7th round, but I doubt he see much playing time in the NFL, as he lacks elite speed and the size needed to handle the ball more than a couple times a games.

Micro, I would not be so sure that Lesoure will be the main back next year.  If he does not raise his game a level then he could be on the bench.  I am hoping that he was not 100% recovered last year and will be improved this year.  This is a make it or break it year for him.  Bell outplayed him last year and could become the main back as he seems to be getting better each year.

That being said, I agree we need a speed back no doubt.  Not sure your boy is it though.

           Projected Round               Pre combine 40

  Giovani Bernard ( 2-3)                  4.45
Kenjon Barner  (3)                         4.38
Andre Ellington  (2-3)                     4.42
Kerwynn Williams (4-5)                   4.46

Those are the backs to be looking at  who should run close  to Jhavid Best times with ability.

Oh I would love me some Kenjon, I just don't see us grabbing him. I wouldn't touch Bernard as he suffered a pretty bad knee injury in college. I just think for Riddick's value and skill set, he'd be a great grab in the later rounds. May not be a huge star, but he is a great asset out of the backfield. He's played both receiver and Rb at ND.
