One thing I would like to know is if there are extra protections in place for the jet dryers this year

Jedi, the jet dryers are not supposed to be on the track as long, so yea, that is their extra protection. 

I also heard, their is a new Juan rule, he will not be allowed on the track with the jet dryers. 

Oh, Jedi, thanks for recognizing that I am just stirring the pot.  That is why I stated you make the call.  I don't think you can look at any of my post and say I "Said NASCAR cheated for Danica"  I just pointed out some questionable motives that may be involved.

Speaking of track drying...anyone notice the new system they have now. Believe its called "Titan".  Using compressed air. Heard it would take a 2.5hr process at Daytona and turn that into less than an hour. Not sure if its being used this year yet or not.

I should go back to Jayski and read it, but I believe that they will be using the system this year.  There are other systems that will be starting this year from other manufacturers as well.

Of course it was a fix! It was the easiest way Nascar could be at the top of headlines across the nation! Easiest form of advertising you can get!

great point bigdogjake....Daytona is a big crap shoot now-a-days anyway.  I think it was last year in July at Daytona where she was doing ok but got caught up in someone else's wreck...kind of like JJ, Gordon and K Bush did in the unlimitied.  With the right equipment, she's as qualified as the other 20 or so field fillers anyway....and least doesn't start and park like a handfull do.....     

Trevor won because the person he was pushing was blacked flagged for jumping the start otherwise David Stremme probably would have won that race. 

TX, I guess the SHR equipment she ran last season wasn't the right equipment, considering her best qualifying effort was 23rd.  For the rest of the 9 races here best was 29th or worse.

I think a very good case could actually be made for that.  If you're Tony Stewart last season, what reason do you have to place her in one of your better cars when she's not out there to do anything but log laps for experience?  There's clearly a better chance of her tearing something up, so I'd be giving her the cars that Tony and Ryan didn't do well with or had been re-build from a previous accident.

This season she's running full time, they have more sponsorship money coming in and have a full-time and dedicated personnel group for the #10 car.  I would say for those reasons, it would not be unrealistic by any means to expecr her to be given better equipment and that translates into a better performance in qualifying.

Agreed CF9....full time and sponsorship money means fielding a better car or else....LOL


We'll see how good the equipment is if it can last 500 miles...if she doesn't get caught up in a wreck or wreck herself before then that is.    

lets not forget about this also....

A)  She only ran a few races last year

B)  She was not running for a championship

C)  Most importantly she was really only out there for "seat time", experience whatever


Which leads me to believe she was in a test car last year. Which is all she really needed....This year is a completely different year. She is full time and running for a championship. They will have her in better eqiupment this time around and better results will come. Most people think she will crash and burn every week or run like crap. Dont think so. Wouldnt be surprised to see a top 20 finish in the standings
