I am in a 10 man keeper league. We have a 28 man roster(we draft offensive and defensive players). We keep 6 players. I have a fair amount of players that I would like to keep.
Should I keep Harvin instead of Decker? Is it worth keeping Stafford when there will more than likely be another decent QB in the draft? Should I keep Luck instead of Stafford? Should I keep a QB at all? Is it worth making room for JJ Watt?
Please note that we do have unlimited waiver wire pickups!
If you have a suggestion, please reply! What would you do if this was your roster? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
I like the people that you have listed as keepers. Stafford will have a turn around season as you have to keep in mind how many time CJ was tackled at or within 3 yrds of the endzone. I do like Decker more than Harvin especially with all the BS going on with him right now and the fact that Manning is throwing to him as he makes everyone around him better. It is wierd that you guys have a DST as well as DEF players, I've never seen that. Anyways, I like the guys that you're planning on keeping right now and think you should stick with them.
It depends on what you're giving up to keep those players. I like Harvin more than Decker personally, but wait and see if Harvin gets traded this offseason (and to whom) or if he holds out. Luck could also be an option instead of Stafford, again depending on what you're giving up.
It is a PPR league. QB - 4 pts per TD. -2 for int RB/WR/TE - 6 points per TD and 1 point per reception. There is bonues for passing, rushing, and receiving yards as well.
DST and Defensive players get 1 point per tackle, 2 points a sack, 2 points for forced fumbles, 2 points for fumble recoveries, 2 points for interceptions and 6 points for TDs. There is bonuses for having so many tackles, sacks etc.
I'm by no means an IDP expert, but I feel you've got the right players kept. I wanted to say drop Stafford and keep Watt, seeing as how you alone are going to be putting,at least two starting caliber QB's oit there already my guess is that you'll have a more than decent shot at getting a good QB in the draft...but, I'm not sure of Watt's value in your league, and there's no other position players I'd keep over the ones you've already put out there.
on a side note, given the amount of IDP's you start, which is basically a full defensive unit..isn't it kind of reduntant to start a D/ST as well? I'd make a move next year to replace that slot with a KR/PR and be done with it..just my two cents
I guess I should have asked if there is a specific rd you lose for each keepers or do you just start in rd 7. That could make a big difference in this answer - but I'm going to assume you would just start in rd 7. Judging by your roster, it would appear there will be decent QB's available (since you had 3) and as such, I would not keep Stafford (actually if it were me I'd lean more towards Luck if I was to keep one). If the IDP scoring is 1pt per total tackle (solo & assist) I think I would make room for an IDP (either Watt or Bowman). They will be worth 150-160pts. If not, then you could take a chance on Harvin.
I actually brought this up to the guy who runs the league. He posted a poll on the league wall and nobody wanted to voice their opinion so he just kept the D/ST. Hopefully he makes the change next year.
I checked the leagues page and it doesn't say anything about losing any specfic round for keepers. I am assuming we don't lose anything for our keepers.. This was my first year in a keeper league so I don't know exactly how they work.. Sorry if I sound like a rookie ha.
No worries, rookies are why we hang around these boards ;) . I'm thinking you hang onto Stafford, and Decker..unless Watt or Bowman were markedly better than almost everyone else at thier respective positions last year, according to your scoring...if one was, then toss Stafford into the pile and go after a QB in round one or two.
