Don't forget they need cap room to sign their draft picks also. (estimated $4.7 million)Yes, but that's quite a ways down the road.
How much do you think it will take to resign Lewis? $5 million a year? The rumor is he's looking for about $7M per year, but no matter how much his contract averages out at, his first, and second, year cap hit will be minimal. If he were to sign a 4 year, $28M deal ($7M/yr average), with, lets say a $10M signing bonus, it would likely have a first year cap hit of about $3.5-4M ($1-1.5M base salary in 2013 plus $2.5M pro-rated signing bonus charge).

How'd I do beach??? Did I do good??? Huh??Not bad for a drunken canuck but I think if they sign Lewis it will be at least 5 years and the cap hit will be even smaller. The first year will probably be at or close to league minimum.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the Steelers have reached an impasse in contract restructuring talks with James Harrison.
Per the Post-Gazette, "the chance has increased that the star linebacker could be released soon." Added beat reporter Ed Bouchette on ESPN Thursday, "They've been talking all day and they've gotten nowhere. ... Neither side has come to any kind of agreement on this." The Steelers want Harrison to take a pay cut off his $6.57 million base salary. So far, Harrison's camp is balking. Source: [Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ]
