What are Manti and Honey Bader worth?

It's not meaningless but it is not as big a deal as some say.

I didn't see a lot of his other INTs but how much of that one against OU was just simply right place right time? 

The game I saw the most exposure was against Pitt. Actually, I shouldn't say I got a good exposure of him because I forgot until about midway through the 4th quarter that he was on the field .

How fast is the guy with pads? That's what I want to know. Not how fast he is running in a straight line for 40 yards. If my Broncos draft Manti Te'o, I'll be pretty excited for the prospects of the future of the defense no matter what his 40 time is.

Here's my take. Give up on referencing the 40 times. James Laurinaitis ran an even slower 40 time, and he's a beast.

Te'o is absolute worth a later first round pick. I wouldn't take him top 10, but 20-32, absolutely.
And the Honey Badger, IMO, not worth anything higher than a 7th, and I wouldn't want my team to spend that. Here's the thing, the off-the-field issues are numerous with him. Say you get over that....he is 5'9".

Gonna cover Julio Jones and Calvin Johnson at that height?? I think not. I wouldn't touch him. But some team will. I'm guessing it will be one of those teams that is mysteriously never a contender.  Picture me shocked  ;)

I take it from your statement rayne you've seen exactly one game Te'o played in. The guy is a leader, makes some big plays at big moments, and rarely misses tackles. Say what you will, you're missing the boat on Te'o.

I'm not seeing a TO situation with this kid.  I see a kid that needs to put the weed down and stop being so cocky, but that's a far cry from T.O.  Richard Sherman runs his mouth like no other but I wouldn't say he ruins his team.

Not true, because I love the kid, and I wouldn't pull that. 40's are worth about 2% of a guys draft value. Play on the field is worth 90%. He's about 10-20 overall on tape, downgraded a touch because of bad BCS game and slower 40.

And it's easy to say his 40 means very little when you look at the success of guys like James Laurinaitis and realize he ran even slower. Hasn't hurt him in this league.

Now if he had run 4.50.....maybe I'd be yapping  ;)

the poor 40 time is what is it for Te'o. its not something i will harp on and on about because it's a small issue to me. the issue i had with him was his Bama game where he was beat like he stole something on what seemed like every play, BUT that doesnt change what he did before the Bama game which is why i think he's a first rounder, though not a real high one.

Yes, I've seen one game on Manti - the one that was against an equal team. Notre Dame had a weak schedule and therefore dominated schools like Pitt, Army, Navy, etc. Once they played a school that could actually beat them - they lost. Huge. Manti pentetrated the Oline and got in position to make a tackle - but whiffed. Never touched the RB. And it happened more than once. If you get in the backfield and have the RB dead to rights, you have to bring him down. Manti didn't.

true the competition wasnt uh, great, before Alabama, but that doesnt mean he should fall out of round 1. there's only one inside linebacker who i think is better than Te'o in this draft and even he has questions. so if a team needs a middle linebacker, Te'o is worth the risk and really his only risk in my book is the Bama game, will that Te'o show up will be the question.

And it's a rather large question to have looming over you. Your #1 pick has to be solid - you have to hit on him if you want to succeed as a team. Personally, I woudn't be willing to take that risk.

i think he is a first rounder, just a very low one. he was overrated, i will agree there, but he still has first round talent even with that pathetic Alabama game.

disagree here. he's a 4th rounder to me because of his character, no doubt there. if he didnt have the bad character he would be a 2nd rounder. he's NOT a safety, he's not too slow to be a CB, not at all, his BIG issue (football wise) is height for me. he's 5'8, so i fear he would get beat......alot if covering a Fitzgerald, Johnson, etc. Mathieu is worth a risk in round 4 if you know his past is behind him and if the team that gets him uses him as a slot cover corner AND a punt returner. i kinda want to see him in Carolina as i think they would use him right and he would be a great punt returner for them, but i also wouldnt mind him in Washington IF he's on his best behavior and again, used to cover to slot guys, but if they see Mathieu trying to cover Dez Bryant or Hakeem Nicks, then i dont want him.

true and i think Te'o is solid. sure his competition wasnt great and he had one awful game, but we dont know for sure if that Bama game was a fluke or if that's who he is. i would take the risk in the LATER part of round 1, in other words, the Bengals and Ravens can take the risk on him. now if you 1) dont need a linebacker or 2) pick between 1 and 17, dont risk it.

Honey Badger is a real head case with multiple issues. He has not done all that well at the combine but does not lack for self confidence. He already calims he can cover Calvin Johnson and shut him out. Ahhh no way. He is too short and too slow . Late round pick at best. As far asthe Notre Dame hype project he is sliding out of the 1st round for sure. A linebacker who cannot cover anyone is not a 1st round pick.

Dumbest statement I have seen.....There is NO player in either college or the pros that hasn't WHIFFED at least once. you claimed you saw 1 game......ONE. What about all the other games he played while in college but yet you base your statement on the ONE that you say you saw. Anything just to create a chance for an argument.
