Geno called first round Risk

February 27, 2013 4:38 pm

He will go in the first round but who will take the risk.  I know my lions won't take him.  Thank God.  Like Dc said in another post he needs to go to a team and be the back up for a couple years and he will have a good chance of being good in the NFL.  I give him a 50 /50 chance to be good or bust

Geno called first round Risk

Too many teams looking for an answer at QB.  Geno came out of the combine still as the #1 QB available in the draft.  Some projections now have him still going as high as #3 to Oakland.
7) Browns, 8) Cardinals, 9) Bills all have a need at QB.  Also, Schiano has shown some love for WVU players and has stated he wants competition for Freeman.  Tampa picks 13th.  He should definitely be gone by then.  If not, Dallas fans have been complaining about Romo for the past couple years.  They have to be thinking about their future at QB.  But I'm still calling Geno to Arizona at #8.   Geno throws for 3500 yds  26 TD's and 16 INT's

Tavon improved his stock from a late 1st rounder to a projected 12-16th pick!  Some draft projections have him going as late as 27th to the Texans.  NO WAY he lasts that long.  If the Pats don't trade up (and that's looking less likely with Brady's re-structured contract opening up Welker's re-signing for the next 3 years), you have Carolina at 14, the Saints at 15, and the Rams at 16 all in need of a WR and playmaker.  After that you have the Steelers, Bears, and Seahawks all with a need...  and the Rams with another pick at 22.  Browns at #6 and Dolphins at #12 are in desperate need at WR.  Do they see enough value in Tavon to use that high pick?  Doubtful.
I'll call Tavon to New Orleans at #15 and he will catch 80 balls for over 1000 yards and 10 TD's as a rookie!

Stedman is said by scouts to have the "best hands in the draft".  Tricky pick here.  I think his slower 40 time hurt him a little.  But he can make EVERY catch and showed the ability in college to somehow get seperation on the long balls.  I'd say he could go as early as 27th to the Texans or as late as 54th to the Dolphins.  After the Texans, I could see 31) 49ers, 32) Ravens, 33) Jags, 36) Lions, 38) Cardinals, 40) Titans, 42) Dolphins, 44) Panthers, 46) Rams, 50) Bears, 51)Redskins, and  54) Dolphins all as possibilities.
My call is the Cardinals pairing him up with Geno with the 38th pick!  The Miramar connection continues...
Stedman's rookie campaign looks something like this:  55 catches 650 yds, 6 TD's

Geno will go in the first 8 I just hope they give him time to develope.  Tavon will be on ESPN Highlights alot, Look forward to seeing him do great.  stedman is a steal were ever he is picked.  He will really help a team.  Geno would love to have Stedman.  How good of stat would of Geno had without Stedman.  Steadman and Tavon Made Geno where he is now and owes them alot for the big paychecks Geno will be getting

I found it interesting that during the combine they talked about how the WVU coaches were trying to get him to run...I think we all said this during the season and i think many of us felt it was the coaches telling him not to, but from what was reported it does seem Geno did not want to.

I bring this up because if Geno would have used his legs more(which I do think he is very capable of doing) he might have played himself into the first pick.

Geno running is a double edged sword.   Pat White and Jarrett Brown both missed games due to injurires that sustained while running.  Geno did not miss any games.  Durability is also considered with QBs and not taking those hits in college leaves him healthier.

I see Geno going to Arizona.  With Fitzgerald, and warm weather, it could be a great fit.  I doubt he would suceed in Philly or Buffalo due to bad fans and weather.

Pittsburgh is a possible landing spot for Tavon or Steadman.  They are losing Wallace and they need a good burner.  They did win Super Bowls after their last two first round WR pics.  (Burrress and Holmes).  Tavon does not seem to have the attitude problems of the former.

I'd love to be able to watch those guys every week.

Thats why I called him a wussy.  He can Run and chosse not to.  He just needed to pick his spots to run.  If he was a running threat things would of been opened up even more.  Moved the chains and keep our D off the field.  Do you think he chosse not to run to protect his draft status.  In the NFL he better run or hes going to get his bell rong.  I know i took alot of heat about Geno.  I just don't respect the way he plays.  Take all the stats and records he has set and I still think he is weak.  I didn't like Brown either.  Oh well just my opinion.

Tavon to the Steelers is a definite possibility... His name is coming up around here alot...but so is the WR out of Cal

Steelers need a end rusher with some speed though.. I look for them to go in that direction

I think Geno goes to Arizona, which would be a great landing spot for him.  Geno has had difficulties with consistancy in cold or bad weather games, playing 9 games a year (incl. STL) in a dome would definitely help.  Being with Bruce Arians would be huge for his development and think of a Smith to Fitzgerald connection 100 times per season.  Just pray he doesn't end up with Buffalo or Jets.

I think Tavon ends up with Miami (If they don't trade for Harvin).  He would be a perfect fit as that all-over player and would be a goor replacement for some of what Reggie Bush did there.  If Miami doesn't happen, I think St. Louis takes him, especially if they lose Amendola in FA.

CBS formatting:

I just compiled cold v. warm weather stats for Geno and lost them.

If you look at yards, passer ratings, TDs and Ints. you will see that Geno does best in September, then October, then November, then December.  As the days get shorter, windier, or colder, Geno stats ger worse.
