Not an extremely bold pick because they've been in the discussion all year (even though the talk died down after losing 3 straight - none bad losses really) but they are my current favorite to cut down the nets, especially if they win the Big East Tourney by defeating Georgetown in the finals. I like Louisville vs. Indiana in the championship game. Of course this is all subject to change.

Louisville is always tough in the tourney but they aren't my pick to win it. I am hoping Duke wins it but wishing (in vain I know) that St. Mary's or North Carolina would win it.

Why do you say South Carolina sucks so bad?  Is it because the state has a higher percentage of Aryans who vote Republican?  Must be why it's a football school instead of basketball.  Kentucky would be the flip side of that case though.

Found the badge avatar on the net. It's all in fun and I don't think SC sucks that bad. LOL

Who cares how many Aryans they have or whether or not they vote Republican? Do you have issues or are you just trying to be funny?

A North Carolina fan generally doesn't like South Carolina. That's just the way it is. I'm sure North Dakota fans don't like South Dakota, Michigan fans don't like OSU, etc.

I still stand by my november prediction...  UL or IU will be there at the end.

Both are well coached teams and it wouldn't surprise me to see both in the championship game.

As much as I dislike pitino for having ZERO loyalty, (UL fans will see this at some point) , I have to recognize that he is a great coach and great motivator.

I still like my prediction that UK, IU and Louisville will all be gone by the end.

As much as I dislike pitino for having ZERO loyalty, (UL fans will see this at some point) , I have to recognize that he is a great coach and great motivator.
What do you mean Louisville fans will see it at some point?  Do you really think Pitino is going to leave Louisville for another job?  It's not like he's in demand anywhere else.  You never hear his name mentioned in coaching searches, and as Charlie Strong proved this off season, Louisville AD Tom Jurich is willing to pay stupid amounts of money to keep coaches.  Pitino will retire a Cardinal.

And saying Pitino has zero loyalty is a bit obtuse anyway.  Name 5 big name coaches that wouldn't have left UK for the deal that Boston offered Pitino.  I'll even start you off...

1) Coach K
2)

And make no mistake about it, if the Celtics made that offer to John Vincent Calipari right now, he'd be gone before Alan Cutler could chase him down the hallway for an interview.  Or have you already fogotten how he came to coach at UK in the first place?

I think Louisville will be a tough out in the tournament for sure but I see a lot of things from watching them that gives me pause for picking them to win it all. As good as Russ Smith is he can be equally as detrimental at crucial moments of any given game. They IMO are one of the two or three best defensive teams in the country but they don't shoot the ball well on most nights. Their pressure defense wreaks havoc but a lot of times it causes Siva to get into major foul trouble. They can ill afford that, especially in the tournament when games are called tighter.

Nightmare - thanks for the thread & we appreciate the Louisville Love.

Of course I'm cautiously optimistic, but Louisville could be on the verge of yet another great run...and may be ready to peak at just the right time. The BE tourney always brings out the best in us and I'm hope'n we can put on a show in MSG.

I'm loven that 10 / 12 foot shot that Dieng's got goin on - and if he can keep hittin it, it should open things up down low for Behanan.

We gotta hit our jumpers & Siva is cold right now but Hancock, Blackshear & Smitty can score.

Other teams I see making a serious run would be; Indiana, Kansas, Duke, Zagga & Michigan...and few others.

We still have 2 weeks to see how things play out - alot of hoops yet to enjoy.

Go Cards !
