Florida State and Boise sign home and home deal

I may have to change my opinion of Coyle.  One factor most likely is that he earned his Master's degree at FSU and interned in the football ticket office while he was there.  Football is still a good old boys system, and contacts mean a lot.  Hence the game agreement.  It will be good for both programs.

I'm coming around slowly but surely on Coyle. When I think of Florida State, I think of those ten or fifteen seasons in a row that they finished top 5 or higher. I think of those national titles from '93 and '99. I think of a winning program and I think of that defense these past couple of years. Very good get for Boise, so cool that they would agree to a home and home.

I still can't figure out why our friends here are so unable to see how that Boise is stepping up it's scheduling.

They have a long term deal with BYU for the traditional rivalry game.  They will have at least two games against a highly regarded or BCS conference team every year, and some years three games!  here is the link:

And they still need to schedule more games each year.

I love the hypocrisy of some of our Boise friends.  For years have railed that lower end AQ teams are not tough games, but get a couple of matchups with Washington St and UVA and suddenly those become good scheduling.  For years FSU has not been that tough of an OOC game and the Seminoles are a shell of what they once were, but now that a home and home has been announced it is a marquee OOC opponent.

The reasons to laugh at some of these guys is endless.

^^^^^^^ got any proof? I think what you meant to say is all fan bases have their hypocrites, but I like to rail on Boise. I like to make general statements to prove my point without any substantial way to back up what I am saying.

Oh, brother.  It takes a rube of mythical proportions to come on here and talk about lack of proof regarding the hypocrisy of Smiles.
Thank you for contributing what may be one of the single funniest posts in the history of CBS.

t's for the 2019 and 2020 seasons so it's a long way away, but WOW.  Boise got FSU to agree to a straight up home and home deal.  Thank you for giving us this opportunity FSU.  Much respect!

Careful what you wish for.  Now you'll find out why we don't have to travel to find games.  Respect means consistently beating them, and you ain't done that yet.  Laughing

I respect them for agreeing to a home and home. Win, lose, or draw, I don't really care. I just want to see steps up in competition. If we lose both games, I'll still be thankful that the deal got done.

Yes, saying "some of our Boise friends" in response to a post by Smiles was incredibly cryptic.  So much so that no Boise fan could possibly ever figure out what was meant.

Thank goodness you were around to save the day!

She's fixating so much on me, I'm starting to worry.  Wherever I post, there she is with some delightful, self-important put down.

I think that I have now collected a half dozen stalkers, er, excuse me, fans.  Not up to celebrity reality show TV star yet, but I seem to be getting close.  This is great, Lassie acts like she has a crush on me, Bama Time is making threats of violence, justafan is starting to act like a parrot, geneh goes on and on, it's all good!

I don't mind it at all, indeed, I appreciate it.  It tells me that my pointed commentary is striking nerves.  I admit, that I will hone my remarks, because I believe that debate and discussion are good things.

Frankly I can't see how anyone would object to this series getting done.  It's good for Boise, good for FSU and good for the sport.  I have been hard on the SEC because they, more than any other conference, seem to be proud of the fact that nearly every SEC team underachieves when it comes to scheduling.  Alabama, the best, is playing not one, but two current FCS teams next year.  I find such behavior inexcusable, especially coming from the universally acknowledged best in the land.

Make sure you watch out for zero win SM or UT martin....They might sneak up on ya next season.

Alabama, the best, is playing not one, but two current FCS teams next year.

And yet they bama will still play a better SOS, More EOY ranked opponents and more quality opponents then BSU.....100 SOS and zero EOY ranked opponents........Tough slate I tell ya.

I find such behavior inexcusable, especially coming from the universally acknowledged best in the land.

You play in a weak conf but still schedule an FCS opponent. You are coming off a season without a EOY ranked opponent and still schedule an FCS opponent..........BSU a team that you continually say deserves their ranking plays a schedule far below that of what bama plays. Good luck to BSU next season. Maybe you will atleast get to see them play a ranked opponent...

Boise played teams that were ranked at the time, even last year.  But funny thing, a narrow win or loss to Boise State tends to knock teams out of the rankings.  That's why the prejudice that conference membership gives some voters is an issue, good in your school's case, bad in mine.

But this is the fallacy of SOS.  Both MSU, Nevada, and SM were ranked the year before, but went into the tank last year.  Fresno was ranked for a time as well, but faded.  It happens.  Can you say Arkansas?  Besides, how is Boise supposed to get those games scheduled, the ones that you constantly criticize?  It isn't like Alabama is going out looking for real opponents for those games.

But NO ONE is confused when Bama sets its optional home schedule, the only games they really control.  Those 3 teams your squad is bringing to Tuscaloosa were bad last year, the year before, and as far back as you can look.  Say it all you want.  Bama is the beneficiary of being in a fine conference, but they certainly don't live up to it in the only games they actually control.

Four of those six "horrible" MWC teams went to bowl games last year too, with Colorado State clearly being the worst of the bunch but whatever. I get it. Those aren't exactly powerhouse teams.

Why wont Smiles answer the question?

The question is:  Which team, Boise or Alabama, has a more difficult schedule?

This question requires a 1 WORD ANSWER, NOT an essay......

Answer it Smiles.  1 WORD, either BOISE or ALABAMA?
