Hit the wrong button. Ok, I have the first pick in my keeper lg this year. My decision is between mccutchen and price. I know mostly everyone says never take a pitcher first pick but it is a keeper lg. Price is projected to score 100 more points than mccutchen in our format. There is also less difference between mccutchen and the other guys i think i can get if i wanted them when it gt back to me, either Adam Jones or cespedes. The drop off with price to the guys that i thik will be available again around 100 or so, difeerence with mccutchen and comparavle guys is around 50. My keepers are kershaw, pedroia and heyward. Any opinions are very much appreciated, thanks.
How many pitchers do you start? How many outfielders do you start? And how many pitchers were kept? If a lot of pitchers were kept, I'd lean Price. Given you already have Kershaw if you don't start a lot of pitchers you could be okay. But if pitchign is that valuable in your scoring, a 2 stud punch like kershaw and price sounds tough to beat! I personally think McCutchen peaked a bit last year and should come back to the pack a bit.
We can start as follows 5-1, 4-2, 3-3, SP-RP. Outfield is 3 by position not just OF. 10 teams each kept one pitcher. Pitching is very valuable. Kershaw is projected 1 overall in my format followed by verlander cabrera and price. Price projection 590, mccutchen 490. Im leaning towards price.
That's not even a question then. Price is the easy choice...if you only have to start 3 SP's you can basically ignore the position for quite a few rounds. McCutchen's nice but he won't carry your team. CF and LF are probably more loaded than RF, and you already have a top RF locked up so I'd go Price all day.
Thanks for the input!! Like I said I am leaning that way. I don't like goin 3 starters though. Actually i like 5SP and 1RP way better. I do really want two studs though.
