Yeah, I think Reed is about to return back home as well. He has a potential deal in his hands that he is probably taking to Ozzie right now. Ozzie is suave enough to shave a bit off of it and get him back into the fold.

Let's be honest here, who among us really wants to see Ed is another uniform?  I don't.  Should retire a Raven but it all comes down to what is Ed willing to accept.

Come on back home Ed, I still love ya regardless of your shoulder or your craziness sometimes.  You can still pick off passes with the best of them :)

I am betting that Ed knew what they were offering before he left. Ed left wishing for 7-9 million and was probably offered 5-6....right where Ozzie put it. There are 2 many younger guys out there over Ed...Ozzie treated him just like they did Ray a few years ago.....go search for what you want...when you don't find it this is what we are willing to give....call me.

Looks like the Patriots officially signed Emmanuel Sanders.  Looks like we're not the only AFC North team that will be drafting receivers,

I honestly don't think I want Ed back after putting all emotional feelings aside. I would love for him to retire a Raven but I see the point of diong what they're doing to the defense as getting younger and more athletic and get young guys ready for the future when we need the defense to be solid again. Ed's not part of that future to me the only real plus from bringing him back over someone else is the experience and leadership. I think Suggs is the future leader of the defense but he's just too immature right now and runs his mouth just like Ray did back in the day. When he matures he'll be the leader on the defensive side of the ball.

OK.....but until he does mature you still need someone to be THAT leader you want Suggs to be, and what makes you think Suggs ever grows up mentally. He's a hell of a football player and funny as hell but maturity RIGHT NOW is not in the cards. So who do you fall back on without Reed?

I still think Ed will retire. Why would he risk further injuring his neck for $2M? And why would Ozzie pay him more than $2M? He's looking for bargains right now, not looking to overpay for 35 year old safeties. As far as the "leadership" aspect I think you guys are forgetting he was one of the guys that started the mutiny during the bye week. That's not the kind of leadership Harbaugh is looking for. Why would he dump Pollard and bring Ed back?

There are obviously things we're not privy to but based on what I can see I will be shocked if they bring Ed back. They are already getting lambasted by fans. Stay the course, build this team back up with the multitude of draft picks and value-priced free agents and move on.

I actually had Gibson getting picked up by Miami on the prior page.  You copied my list there too, we just missed it.  I mentioned Davone Bess would probably be available soon, but again, he's more a #3 guy than anything else which doesn't really make us a better receiving group.

I recrossed off Adrian Wilson since the Patriots picked him up.

I'm now not feeling good about our ILB group.  Feels like teams are not picking up these guys because they are planning to snag them in the draft younger and cheaper.  This means it's going to be a fighting frenzy to get any LB picks which is not a good thing when you pick at the end of each round.

Also Yell to the Post Gazette for reporting Sanders signed with the Patriots.  That was probably the best thing that happened to the Ravens in FA because it leaves the Steelers with no receiving corps...then it was all false (or at least still up in the air).

Sanders didn't sign officially.....he signed an offer sheet only. The Steelers have 1st right of refusal but he is not off the market as of yet as far as I know or have read.

I doubt the Steelers match the offer though as they are cap hurt right now.

Ravens should start interviewing every WR and ILB regardless if they intend to sign to raise interest in those players so other teams sign them and we clean up in the draft

I recall.  Guess I just missed it when crossing out names.

In terms of the Sanders thing, it was a potential ploy to get Brandon Lloyd to sign for cheaper.  I read somewhere that if Lloyd doesn't restructure today then the Pats will cut him to avoid paying a bonus, or escalator or something like that so they may actually give Sanders an offer.

Considering New England doesn't believe in running out the clock and will continue to throw in the endzone when up 92-7 with 50 seconds left in the fourth quarter, they really might give Sanders an offer if they cut Lloyd

I'm putting Danario Alexander on our WR list, and he automatically is probably the most intriguing option there.  He's a restricted free agent, but I just read that he received an original round tender from the Chargers, and since he was not drafted, there is no draft pick the Ravens would need to give up.  They just need to give an offer the chargers won't match.  He'd need to be checked out medically first, but he's young, has NFL experience, is 6'5 and ran a 4.4 40.  Sign me up.

Is that really how it works?

Seems odd, I guess the only difference is he is labeled as an RFA and the Chargers have the right to match a deal to keep him? Odd to call it an original round tender that way lol

Yeah consider it a right of first refusal instead for the undrafted players.  It's why the Ravens tagged Cary Williams with a 2nd round tender last year.  If they weren't going to give him a 1st, they had no other options since he was undrafted and surely a team would have picked him up for "free" in essence.

Ozzie watched the Chargers rack up yards on the Ravens for 2 years in a row.  I hope 1) Alexander is healthy and 2) Ozzie is taking a look there.

The probably with Alexander is definitely his injury history.  He's yet to play more than 10 games since being drafted.  The measurables are great but if he's not on the field then it doesn't even matter.  I guess he'd have to be cheap.  If healthy, he could definitely be a starter.  His yards per catch average is great and he's a TD threat.....again, if healthy.

Honestly for me it is all about what they are going to do at Tackle right now. I think everything else can be cobbled together into something mediocre but if we have to start Oher at LT that's not going to be good.

I believe Ozzie will find value in Free Agency, at Linebacker (both inside and out) and Safety in addition to the value that he has already found at D Line.

I just really hope they address Tackle too so that we are not reaching for any position in the draft.
