Packers 500 Current Draft

March 18, 2013 2:16 pm

We've all had some steals Joe. I got Revis in round 4. Someone just got Levitre this round, arguably the best pass blocking Guard in the league. 32 NFL teams mostly full of talented guys. Only 9 of us. The math is working in our favor.

Torrey Smith made Champ look really old in that game. He did have a good year, so maybe that was just a bad matchup for him. We will see.

Packers 500 Current Draft

There are some younger guys I like alot(more than Claiborne)

Without a big season from DeMarcus Ware, Dallas went from 23rd to 19th in passing defense and Claiborne a rookie was a big part of the reason why. You can have your old timers group, good luck seeing Winfield on the field for 16 games at age 36.

I select Andre Smith - RT

Old does not mean washed up. If you only look at the sexy stats you are making a mistake. Bailey had a bad playoff game but before that he only allowed 2 TDs. I was surprised he didn't go ages ago. As for Winfield he is still playing great and he has been great in the slot. He may be the best tackling corner despite his age. Seriously these players haven't really seen any decline. Winfield may have actually improved.

I know this is a competition and noone wants to say anything ;)

As I said it was a bad game, and Smith was killing it too. I'll take the season of domination as who he really is. Of course people only remember the playoff game. Fine by that. He slips to me this late.

Heh. We all disagree about certain stuff, and value guys differently based on scheme. I'm going run first again, which is why I took someone like Iupati over someone like Levitre. All a matter of perspective.

He was healthy last season with 100 tackles and playing better. I his chances. Keep knocking my veteran but still very effictive group. Show these cocky younguns their place ;)

I'll say something, if this was the all time draft and you picked Bailey and Winfield I would have said excellent picks, but Winfield has had trouble staying on the field and will be 36 when the season starts and Champ did look bad against Smith and he will be 35 when the season starts, not hard to look good when you get to play Oakland, San Diego and KC 6 times a year. Love both players, 5 years ago...

Admittedly, when I thought about CB there were 3 names that immediately came to minde Revis, Bailey, and Asomugha...the first two were taken.

Having done a little digging for some future picks I've come across 2 or 3 guys I probably would have taken instead had I been here...but that's who I had on my list so....

Well at least Jayhawk77 likes my pick. lol. He thought he was gone in the first 5 rounds. Yes I know he still thought Asomgha was good so he may have been away from football life for a couple years, but Bailey still ahsn't gone anywhere.

LoL, this convo got out of hand. Only reason I didn't take them was I was trying to keep my team young(er). Still good players, just I took the perspective of trying to build a team that can compete now, but will be even better in the future.

I was looking at my team this morning, and I'm pretty sure I've got this thing won ;)

If I don't get the votes, I'm gonna assume you all cheated lol
