No one is trying to take that away from you (even though the second amendment is for the formation of a militia). 


No the 2nd Amendment is for the individual.  It is a "right of the people" not of a militia.  This was upheald by the Supreme Court in District of Columbia vs. Heller. 

The Constitution can be changed legally (by addition of an ammendment) and your "right" is only a right because of the Bill of Rights that was added to the Constitution (by a majority) after the Constitution had already been written.  Amendments can be added to the Constitution by a majority and that does not violate the premise of what this country was founded on.


Yes an amendment can be added when it is proposed by 2/3 of both houses of congress and rattified by 3/4 of the states.  Not a simple majority. Good luck with that.
