I'm actually not in love with these guys as much as you think. What I said was to wait for Palmer's leverage to fade, which is actually already happening. Remember that a poor man's Carson Palmer, Ryan Fitzpatrick, is already out there on the market. We've done nothing by way of the QB position for a reason. Reggie just doesn't want to show his hand and quite frankly, why would you? Buffalo and Jacksonville already have. Jax needs DB's in a big way (as do we) and Buffalo-between Buddy Nix saying he needed a franchise QB and cutting Fitz-has all but screamed, "WE'RE LOOKING FOR A QB." If anything, CP3 has less leverage today than he did yesterday. He also has more value to Reggie at this point. The dead money is gonna be there regardless if he cuts him, so why not wait it out and see what value he might get for him?
DMC. Again, what I said was, "not so fast." We need to see what Oakland does on the right side of that line before we go dealing our best player on offense. We just lost Goodson (another former Raider who got OVERPAID) and we should see who the Raiders sign to back up DMC. Remember, I also believe, wholeheartedly, that Marcel Reece can be the guy. He may not have DMC's moves, but he gets the job done nicely. If the right compensation comes along, the God Bless, good luck, and see ya later DMC. I hope that clears things up.
Shaug signed away and I dont care. Either Im numb to it, my glasses are working or Im smart enough to know he does not matter. I seriously doubt it is the last option.
I think he signed a 1 year/1 million dollar deal w/incentives. Considering he was replaced last year, I'm sure Reggie is thinking he can find a player with more upside for the same price.
I was no great fan of the guy but they should have been able to pay him a million dollars. I get the feeling they are going to a 3-4 and are just going to start from scratch with the defense.
With him leaving I wouldn't be mad with Andre Carter resigning And starting. Even at age 35 I think he can put up double digit sacks and he is going to be 100% healthy going into the season.
