OFFICIAL LSU vs OSU "Eat Crow" THREAD!!!

January 8, 2008 10:50 am

I, and the rest of the country, would also like to see USC play someone besides overrated Big 10 teams in bowl games.  I'll give USC a pass on '04 ... I don't think Auburn would've done THAT much better than OU ... but in their other two Pete Carroll-era bowl appearances against non-Big 10 teams ... Utah (2001) and Texas (2005) ... they lost.  This is probably not a coincidence.

OFFICIAL LSU vs OSU "Eat Crow" THREAD!!!

As a huge Michigan fan and big ten conference backer - I have to give congrats to lsu and the sec. Ohio st has embarrassed the big ten two years in a row.
There is no denying the sec was better than the big ten this year.
Idiots who post the all the things that went  lsu 's way ( dropped passes,
turnovers, and penalties)- and then say it wasnt domination or try to denegrate
the win are in denial or just do not understand football.
Do not forget that Michigan is 23-5-1 against the sec!!!!!

I resorted to numbers to prove my point. Numbers aside, I watched the entire game, and witnessed no "domination". I seen both teams make the other look foolish several times, not one more than the other. As a matter of fact, I seen OSU make OSU look foolish more than I seen LSU make OSU look foolish. Which goes back to my original statement that it was OSU's inexperience that cost them this game, not LSU's "speed" or "dominance".I guess that Doucet getting the touchdown off of the THREE missed OSU tackles doesn't look foolish, even though all three of the OSU players should have been able to bring him down?  I guess the TWO touchdowns to an extremely wide open Richard Dickson doesn't look foolish? or dominant?  I guess that 31 unanswered points in five of six consective drives against the top ranked defense in the country in multiple categories doesn't look foolish?  or dominant?  I am not taking away from OSU having a good season, and they did shoot themselves in the foot numerous times by not keeping their heads in the game, but let's face facts.  LSU was able to score repetitively and while their defense did let OSU score early, it controlled the rest of the game.  The game was won in the trenches by LSU.

38-24 is a blowout when:

You rack up 31 (thirty one) straight points in a quarter and a half.
You start killing the clock in the 3rd quarter.
Your players get so frustrated that they lose there minds on the field.
When you "All American" linebacker is wore out... from making tackles in the secondary.
When you have to ask....WHO is Vern Ghoulston...is he on the field.
When ANYPLAY the offense runs works like you drew it ip in the sand.
When you defense throws the "gatoraid" on the defensive coordinator with 2 miniutes left in the game.
When the stats are in favor of the other team after you roll up 31 straight points.
When your acr rinning back doesnt touch the ball becuase you need 3 quick touchdowns.
When you had ONE WHOLE YEAR to plan your redemtion and you looked like a team that plays teams like Youngstown, Akron and Ball State.
PICK ONE..THEY ALL WORK!

You're digressing buddy.  LSU won and is undisputed N.C.  Many OSU faithfuls are admitting the SEC is the top conference.  OSU posters are giving mad props to LSU.

Why the need to now justify the game as a blowout?  That's a little "cassels-like".  I'm a little disappointed in you buddy.  Great job LSU Tigers.  Only two time BCS Champ.

Not making excuses

The reason LSU won:

LSU: Matt Flynn - senior, Jacob Hester - senior, Early Doucet - senior, Glenn Dorsey - senior, Ali Highsmith - senior.

Ohio State: Todd Boekman Junior, Chris Wells, Soph, Brian Hartline, Soph, Brian Robiskie, Junior,   Gholston, Laurinaitis and Jenkins, the defensive leaders - all juniors.

That extra year made all the difference.  Senior leadership.

How can you put the first quote up there and then come out with that crap at the bottom.  All we heard on these boards was how Wells was going to carry this team and keep the pressure off of Boekman (he did carry his weight though .. guy has game) and how Gholston, Jenkins and Laurinaitis despite being Juniors were NFL prospects RIGHT NOW and were the reason they had the "Number 1" defense.  Again, rather than just saying "well, OSU made a lot of mistakes" understand that both teams are there to make plays ... LSU made their plays, OSU didn't which causes turnovers.  Is this the same stuff you were saying last year when they got worked over by Florida.  Its just silly to lay out this stuff like this.  Especially throwing Matt Flynn in the mix since this is his first year starting (and only).

LSU won because they scored 38 points and the Buckeyes scored 24 points...and they didn't commit 5 stupid personal foul penalties...oh and because Hester tried to kill anyone who tried to tackle him...and because the LSU db's played like 4 Charles Woodson's downfield...and Matt Flynn managed a hell of a game.

Ohio State got outplayed by a better team. No shame, but hat's off to LSU. They deserved it.

BTW--Did anyoone see Steve Rehring last night. I sawe him standing up, a lot, with a Tiger running right by him...or I saw him false starting. Wow! Hate to point out an O-lineman, but WTF???

OSU fans. I am not here to bash as we can dissagree and then discuss the finer points. I cannot put myself in your shoes but, I am sure it is difficult and i give you the respect you deserve to come back to this thread. But we do need to discuss the merits of the game.

BuckeyeTodd, a DNA test would show we all are 'cassellion' to some degree. The response was to another post when a guy said the refs gave this game to LSU. Those bullets points may seem a ittle harsh, but as an LSU fan, I saw it like that. Maybe I can temper the tone of my responses but I also have to be honest. I could be wrong?

That LSU avatar throws me off, I see the avatar, read the post and then have to go looking for his name before it all adds up.

Way to go, Bayou Bengals.

I believe Les Miles has proved that he can coach with the best of them, and I am so stoked that he decided to stay at LSU.

Next up, Ryan Perrilloux for Heisman.

Next up, Ryan Perrilloux for Heisman.Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Perrilloux has played well when called upon, but hasn't done a ton yet. He didn't beat Flynn out as QB and Flynn didn't win the Heisman. Not that Perrilloux won't shine when he gets the full-time job, b/c I think he'll be great.

But what I'm most excited about and what could potentially happen first is
back to back #1 picks in the NFL Draft!!

2007-Russell
2008-Dorsey

Has that ever happened before? #1 picks coming from the same school in back to back years?

BuckEyeTodd is a great guy, and he does have class. But he made the bet with me! No way is he getting out of that one...haha...I have a fresh one for you Bro.

I do have to say that most of the OSU fans I met last night were really fun guys and girls to watch the game with. Hopefully they will go home with a better experience than some of the others that were treated like crap.
