Yes the Mark Lindsay song was a connection.  My dad loves the Silverbird and we searched for years to find that single and finally found the greatest hits of Mark Lindsay CD for his birthday.

NEXT LYRICS:

Saw myself as really nothing
Then I realised my butterfly
Wasn’t really up there with me
We all make mistakes, forgive me
Would you like to ride my butterfly

Fans,
I had not heard that Peter gabriel's Solsbury Hill was influenced by attending a Bruce Springsteen.
I looked it up and found several websites saying what you said about the eagle.
Thanks for that little tidbit - I guess I learn something new every day.
Solsbury Hill has always been one of my favorite Gabriel tunes and now when I hear it, it will have a special meaning.

Next song:
When there's lightning
You know it always brings me down
Cause it's free and I see that it's me
Who's lost and never found
I cry out for magic

Rainbow in the Dark- Ronnie James Dio

Another dark and empty night
If I was wrong I wanna make it right
But you are so distant, so far away
Your words like ice fall on the ground
Breaking the silence without a sound

STONE COLD - RAINBOW   Darn it HOWLZ, much as I like you, you stole my next idea. I was a huge Ritchie Blackmore fan and quit following DEEP PURPLE when he left them to form RAINBOW. So you stole my twist on the theme to use the band's name, but still a nice choice, and always glad to see you drop by.

NEXT LYRICS: Since HOWLZ stole my thunder, I'll just have to resort back to another song by THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND IN THE WORLD, IMHO, at least from about 67 -78, which would be a time frame for this song.

Coming, colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors

Have you seen her dressed in blue?
See the sky
in front of you
And her face is like a sail
Speck of white so fair and pale
Have you seen a lady fairer?

She's a Rainbow - Rolling Stones. I always thought that critics considered Satanic Majesty's Request the Stones' low point, because right after that came Beggar's Banquet and Let It Bleed. I think that songs from SMR were pretty much off their set lists once they got through the the 70s.

Also from '68

There will be children with robins and flowers
Sunshine caresses each new waking hour
Seems to me that the people keep seeing
More and more each day, gotta say lead the way
Its okay Wednesday, Thursday its okay

Sabba Sibby sabba Nooby abba nabba le le lo lo
Tooby ooby walla nooby abba nabba Early morning singing song

There's love in your skies
reflecting the sunlight
in my lovers eyes
GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE - OLIVER  I had to include the Gliddy Glup part when I figured out what song this was. Actually, I was very fond of this song when it first came out on the radio and I think I remember seeing it performed on the ED SULLIVAN SHOW. Of course now that stupid chorus is stuck in my brain and won't go away!!!!

NEXT LYRICS: This song, a favorite of mine to play for friends, immediately popped into my mind when answering RHINO's lyrics(of course that GLIDDY GLIDDY GLOP GLOP still won't go away)

Some man's come he's
trying to run my life, don't know what he's asking
When he tells me I better
get in line, can't hear what he's saying
When I grow up, I'm gonna make him

mine, these ain't dues I been paying

In the morning please don't say you love me
Cause you know I'll only kick you out the door.
Yeah I'll pay your cabfare
you can even use my best cologne
Just don't be here in the morning when I wake up.

This one should probably be next:

If I had a day that I could give you
I’d give to you a day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I’d sing a song to make you feel this way
