sux, what part of "safety net" do you not understand?  SS has helped seniors to stop living on the streets.  Check out the history behind needing SS.  No one ever knows where you will be when you retired.  Some accident, some illness, some bad turns of fate.  This is why we need a safety net.  Opting out on healthcare or SS, leave the sickest and the poorest to fend on their own.

Of the 18 members only eleven voted for it. I guess my position is this...Obama had endorsed the plan at first. Not once did we see him strongarm either side to get it through...did we? Conservatives argue the same truths in hopes that someday...the libs will finally get it.  "Spending what you don't have" is not good sound fiscal policy...it never was and never will be, yet here we conservatives are having to voice this truth over and over because the libs insist on raising our credit limit (aka "raising the debt ceiling), creating more handout/entitlement programs and raising taxes on the wealth/opportunity creators in this country which ultimately leads to increased taxes on EVERYBODY just as toy had already pointed out.

And for the record..."conservatives" are not for cutting taxes for "just the 2%ers"...we are for cutting taxes for EVERYONE.  Why?  Because doing so (just like it did during Reagan's administration) will stimulate the economy in a "real way" by allowing entrepreneur's to invest more in their business and thus more jobs will be available which in turn will create more "tax payers" which in turn creates more tax revenue.

It worked before and it can work again.  Raising taxes is like putting a bandaid on an ax wound.

How can one not be impressed be him and RWilson? Seeing Wilson throw that block downfield on Lynch TD was an eye-opener. The rookie seasons put together by RGIII, Wilson , and Luck is reminiscent of Bird and Magic coming into the league at the same time.
