The 2012 NHL Draft will take place at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh. The first round will take place on Friday, June 22 commencing at 7 p.m. ET and the subsequent rounds (two through seven) will begin at 10 a.m. ET Saturday, June 23.
Isles if stay at 4, look like they either get the top D Man pick, assuming Edmonton takes Grigorenko, if not then I see the draft as follows:
1. Columbus - Nail - they need everything, take the best player on what we have seen to date.
2. Edm - Grigorenko/ Murray/ Dumba - pass on Grigoenko's Offensive talent? They need a d Man more.........
3. Mon - Grigorenko/ Galchenyuk - they need a center BAD
4. Isles - Murray/ Forsberg/ Dumba
Unless the Lottery changes.......then NAIL it!

As we ALL know, it does not matter where the Isles draft, they don't know how to develop talent (outside of JT) so that pick will probably never see the NHL.

Yes, the Pens had a tough 4 years. But aren't theIsles now on year 5 without playoffs and 14 missed playoffs in the last 20? YUP. So no, there are no similarities. |

The Islanders did a fantastic job developing EL NINO this season. I remember having to hear about this guy since he was drafted. I dont know if he is even ready for the AHL next year.
55 games played, 1 point, -29 Was he the worst player in the entire NHL this season? Sounds like a great future. The Isles should go after free agents who love golfing because only the Isles and Oilers can guarantee players the season will be over the first week in April. That has to be a selling point for some players. This team is going to finish 5th in the atlantic until 2015 when the lease expires and the team can be relocated. Theres no reason to discuss the Isles anymore....not til 2016 |

So our Islanders once again are looking at a top 5 draft choice. Thats all well and good. Aside from the Playoffs, the draft lottery is top NHL news since it will happen tomorrow and the Isles are part of that news...again. And it will be great if they somehow get the #1. Will they keep it? Might they trade it? Who knows. After Tuesdays lottery we'll know alot more. |

That figure is always misquoted by retards like you. The Pens were roughly 90-95% capacity which for a 17,000 seat Mellonm Arena, that's about 15,000 capacity, which is MORE than what the lowly Islanders have now. You leave out the simple fact that at the time, EVERY ARENA WAS BIGGER.

In the years from 2000-01 season through 2003-04 seasons, when the Pens had their measly 4 "bad seasons", the average attendance was 14,570. Post Lockout to present has been over 17,000 and the last 2 years in the Consol has been over 18,000.I lied about nothing. I presented YOU.....FACTS. Ok, so with ONE 11,000 attendance year, they STILL averaged 14,570 in those 4 full seasons and now average over 18,000. in a building built for the Civic Light Opera, NOT hockey, in 1960. Now it's 2012 and they average over 18,000. And still a smaller arena than most. But you won't acknowledge that the Isles have averaged roughly 12,000 fans for the last upteen years. Of your won't, you're a liberal. |

Isles stay at #4 and I hear Dumba which would be nice, but I have heard Forsberg too. I wouldn't trade up for Nail, as good as he is, there is th echance he leaves for the KHL at some point, plusonce a Russian always a Russian and as with Grigorenko, that not play every night lazinees, ie Kvasha and Yashin scares thecrap out of me and hopefully Garth. Plus with the Isles uncertainty I could see Nail running off to the KHL, draft a D Man or trade down get more picks and take Faksa! GO Senators! IGWT! |

Just for the record AGAIN.... Islanders FANS voted YES(at least what is left of the fan base that is, myself included). Long Island taxpayers voted NO. It was a slam dunk for the most part. With some of the highest property taxes in the United States Long Islanders were not ready for a tax hike for a dead weight team. Who could blame them? I voted yes . I pay roughly 60 K in property taxes on my 3 residences. |

Steelwood I know it's hard to keep the inbreding from letting your mouth run, but the Isles have 8 players from the 2008 draft alone to make it to the NHL, and are listed as having the 3rd best prospect pool in the NHL. Yes they might have rusghed guys do to the lack of FA sogniongs, due to the Arena Black Cloud, but they had no choice, unfortunately. Perfect example Nino should have played a year in bridgport, they didn't need him up, tho he had a great camp, but the concussion f'ed him up. Same should go for Strome, leave him in Bridgeport for a year, when he makes the jump, unless he has an unbelievable camp.
But rushing up some guys have really helped, like MacDonald, Hamonic and even Reese. Isles have good depth at D, with Ness, Katic and deHaan in Bridgeport, and Donovan just got called up, and Pedan, Kichton and Mayfield down on the farm. They have the kids to replace Eaton, Staois and Mottau....Ness, Donovan and Katic, I would leave deHaan down one more year, again unless proves in camp he deserves a look. If the vote was up to Isles Fans it would have been yes, BUT it's not! Nassau is the HIGHEST TAXED County in the US, and has a VERY LARGE Ranger Fan population to boot, but it was voted NO because tax payers don't want to hear the word INCREASE.
