I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold

Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song

Curtains part revealing a country scene
Clothed in green and brown
Evidence of autumn
And recent rain
On a winding lane, a byway

Many of the artists we discuss on this thread were very young at the time of their passing, and we mourn not only the person, but the music that died with them before it could be created.  I don't know why, but I have always felt that this guy wasted more potential greatness than almost anyone else when he died:

Time can pass and time can heal
But it don't ever pass the way I feel
You went away a long time ago
And why you left I never knew

This next song was a tribute to Otis Redding who was scheduled to be the opening act for this band.

Poor Otis dead and gone
Left me here to sing his song
Pretty little girl with the red dress on
Poor Otis dead and gone

Hey baby, what you gonna do
When the lights go up on you ?
What's your name, can I drive you home ?
Sweet woman, are you all alone ?

Packerz, on the Hereafter Lyric Game, all the artists we are posting are deceased.  "Still Feeling Blue" was originally recorded by Gram Parsons and "BLue Bayou" was originally recorded by Roy Orbison, both of whom fit the category.

I know rock    hit the Post button before I realized that Ronstadt is still living.  But a case could be made that her career is dead  Tongue out

LOL!

Kasey Chambers is also still very much alive, although I've seen photos where she looked like  "the walking dead!"
