It isn't as much a song as an 8 note audio version of the chinese water torture. I will have my headset for that game next week. It really is the lamest song in all of college football.

Based on what I've seen this year I doubt it.  You might score on our 3rd and 4th stringers late in the 4th quarter.  But I digress, It's Husky Hate Week and I will deal with USC later.  Cheers.

Does this mean you will be playing that thing even when Oregon scores?

You do realize the Trojans are going to have to step up their game to play with Oregon, right?

We are no longer playing the game based upon personal feelings or opinions or rankings.  The season started and it is talent time.  I would have thought the Stanford debacle might have put that in perspective for you.

And, yes, I accept the reality that 11-3 is going to be an all out war against a very good USC team.  I'm still hoping a bunch of your people get the flu or something and miss that one game!

Why is it whenever I get really busy at work, the folks on this board talk Utah football again?

A few thoughts: USC may very well have the most talent of any team that Utah has ever played, but they are not the best team. There is a very distinct difference between best talent and best team. The TCU and Boise teams that Utah have played over the past five years were much better teams. They may not have flooded the NFL with players, but those teams were top 10 in offense and defense in the same year. AQ status or not they were much more formidable.

Also, it is very likely that USC blows Utah out of the water tonight. Utah's offense has been very suspect, and the defense looked like they were running in molasses in the Tempe heat. However, as a fan I feel slightly better now that Utah has been humbled. They always play better when they feel like they get no respect. Coach Whit feeds off the underdog role. The Utes could very well surprise some teams this year, then lay eggs against others.
Lastly, it was mentioned that Utah lacked speed. Perhaps. It sure looked like it against ASU. However I doubt it is truly the case. The Utes have put more Defensive backs in the NFL than any other team in the nation in the last decade. We all know how NFL teams like slow DB's. The skill position players are also very fast. No, speed is not Utah's issue. It has always been depth. The Utah starters can keep up, but the back ups are not P12 caliber just yet. This should change as Utah starts to collect on P12 money, recruits, facilities, and exposure.

Watch out. Anything can happen on Thursday night.
