JACOB'S LADDER - HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS from FORE!, one of the most disappointing follow-up albums in my collection. I have SPORTS and their self titled first album, both of which I consider excellant but FORE! is just a lazy piece of record making IMHO. It doesn't help that this song was written by Bruce Hornsby and recorded in a much better performance on his second album.
I met a fan dancer
Down in southside Birmingham
She was running from a fat man
Sselling salvation in his hand

I have climbed the highest mountainsI Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - U2 Great choice! And I agree with what Wheat said on another thread - Fans always seems to have a lot of great insight on a lot of things - music and otherwise. Slip, Good job sneaking that Bruce tune in here before I noticed the theme change. It was the first song I thought of too! |

Great follow-up! I also like Rod Stewart's loose interpretation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGEe_zpddNI, and Alphaville's completely different song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1TcDHrkQYg |

Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush. Today's NY Daily News has excerpts from a new Bruce book. I'm sure Rhino will get it before it makes the shelves.
Climb up, way up high Well-a well-a well-a heavenly angel I want you for my girl When I kissed your sweet, sweet lips I knew that you were out of this world |

Just curious if anyone else had ever heard of G.G. Allin, who I posted about the other day. He basically believed that rock and roll was born out of rebellion, so he took rebellion to the nth degree. He had a band called the Murder Junkies. Nice

Rise Up - The Nylons. Doing ok Slip, the busier I am the better off I am. Allin's given name at birth was Jesus Christ. There are videos of him on youtube performing at some real sheet-hole clubs. Not for the squeamish.
I'd climb the Empire State, fight Muhammad Ali |

OK, Good theme change, but I'll add one last "climb" song since I didn't get one in before:
Let's swim to the moon, uh huh Let's climb through the tide Penetrate the evenin' that the City sleeps to hide Let's swim out tonight, love It's our turn to try Parked beside the ocean and the new theme: American boy, American girl Most beautiful people in the world Son of a frontier Indian swirl Dancing through the midnight whirl-pool Formless, hope it can continue A little while longer |

These threads can open your eyes to new music in many ways. These threads are the source of my new found knowledge about your av. I knew very little about him until after seeing him here and you guys talking about him then I investigated a little. He was a very interesting character that's for sure. Not afraid to be a little different. I admire that. |

One of the finest songs ever by anyone!Rhino, it's my favorite Dylan tune to play, mostly 'cause it's really easy. Also my brother in law used to sing this together and replace the line, "supplied with sleep" with, "supplied with sheep." We found this very amusing, although I have to admit, there was some herbal aid to our amusement. |
