"2 and 2 on this road trip and soon to be 2-3 doesnt sound like your "ownership" is that secure now, does it?"
So a tough 6 game road trip, at the early part of the season, defines your NBA status? 3-3 (or whatever) on this trip isn't really a bad thing. Firday in Atlanta, Sunday in Mempis, Monday in Houston, Wednesday in LA, Thursday in Denver. Thats 5 pretty rough games in 7 nights, isn't it? You better look around the NBA, there ares some good teams, nd none fear your purple and gold. The frickin Bobcats have more total wins and more road wins then your Lakers. Your team has actually boarded a plane twice so far in 3 weeks for a one game back and forth trip. You have been front loaded with pretty much bottom feeders, by league standards, and you can't get your act together. Can we say 5-6 seed? |

Turnip said it, so it just HAS to be true... Can we say 5-6 seed? LOL STILL trying to(vainly) turn this back on the Lakers. the Heat are worse defensively than last year, Wade is proving to be more of a douchebag all the time, and he can't seem to stay away from the injury bug. sucks to be HIM, lol... i the Heat haters club we talk about Heat failure here. let's face it, it's a MUCH more entertaining topic considering you ALWAYS try to deflect it away... better look on your OWN collection of junk, Turnip. looks like defending that title won't be NEARLY as easy as you tried to make it out to be... "the Heat are worse defensively than last year,"
Through 10 games thay are. Did you hear James after the game last night? They know it. They take responsibilty for it. They will change it. In the meantime, even with that poor defense, they are 7-3 with 6 of the 10 being on the road, while already getting their toughest road trip of the year out of the way. Unlike the Lakers, the Heat has played mostly all quality opponents (Celtics, Nuggets twice, Knicks, Nets, Grizzlies, Rockets, Clippers, ). Going to Atlanta is no picnic. Suns at home is pretty much a gimme game, so you guys should be able to relax tonight, for once. So I guess the question, as always, is, What's your point? |

Unless the Heat lose in PHX on sat this would be a very successful roadtrip. To go 4-2 on a tough Western Roadtrip. I'll take it everytime.
Not going to lie I'm surprised they won last night. Denver always blow us out in Denver especially when we play them on the 2nd night of a B2B. As for the Heat defense it will improve. I expect to see major improvement starting wed because after SAT the heat don't play until wed which means they get a couple of practices in which I have to think will only be focus on defense considering how good the offense been. Spoelstra substitution pattern stil bothers me. Mike Miller need to see action nightly (except for in a back 2 back). Last night he was on fire but he didn't play at all in the 4th? Cole nearly cost us the game playing like crap out there until he made that 3 to seal it. Miami need to release Pittman if Chalmers is going to miss extended time and bring back Temple who I thought played well in preseason. |

Pittman only made the team because his contract/$ was guaranteed. I like Temple, but we still have Harris, so how many minutes would he actually ever play, that mattered? |

I like Temple, but we still have Harris, so how many minutes would he actually ever play, that mattered?Harris is not a PG. Temple is a PG. There is a difference between the 2. If Chalmers is out a while a roster move would have to be made because Cole is awful. We can't deal with him playing 30+ minutes per game. I don't see the sense of having Harris on the team even though he's not a bad player. He has no role on this team. At least if Temple made the team he could be used in case of an injury to Chalmers or Cole or maybe he could have even passed Cole as the backup PG. Harris on the otherhand is pretty much the 5th string SG. It's Wade> Allen> Miller> Jones> Harris |

Harris is not a PG. Temple is a PG. There is a difference between the 2. I like Harris as a basketball player. He is a decent ball handler, a solid perimeter defender, a good rebounder, has more consistent mid-range jumper (than Norris Cole) and a better finisher at the rim (did you see Cole last night?). Not trying to knock on Cole, I don't think he had enough playing time to have more confidence, most times, he just look minute out there. Harris'd have done a much better job defending A. Miller last night or J. Crawford the previous night. D. Pittman is not really a serviceable player, I am surprised that Miami actually gave him a guaranteed contract. J. Jones is normally a 3 or 4 but he can't guard either, this season his playing time will be very limited. To me, one of these two has got to be off the roster to make room for another point guard. I hope L. James doesn't get wear out with those 40+ minutes a game on a regular basis. Go Heat. |

I'm a honest fan who lives in reality unlike jefe who predicts the Lakers to go 82-0 every year. I looked at the road trip and saw tough games in places the heat normally struggle in Memphis, Denver, and LAC....On top of that the Denver game was coming against a rested team while the Heat would be playing it's 4th road game in 5 nights. I thought the Heat would beat ATL, HOU, PHX, & split the games against LAC/DEN. After saturday night the Heat will be 8-3 after playing 7 of their first 11 on the road. I will take that every time. |

See, this is the thing you don't understand, the vast majority of us on the Lakers team board would rather be fans than be "correct". Same here - a lot of Heat Haters, myself included, would just as soon be emotionally hateful than "logical". Which is why your presence here makes even less sense. All you want to do is refute Heat Hatred with "logic"...when NOBODY cares about any of that! Save it for the Heat team board...oh yeah, I forgot, nobody gives a sh it what you have to say about your own team there.

Speak for yourself. Many Laker fans can look objectively at the Lakers roster and see how fragile they are. As far as you, WHY say anything at all??? There is no need to say anything if all you are going to do is say the same thing over and over again, especially if you don't even believe what you are saying, which in essence what you just said. "when NOBODY cares " Then why get so worked up over it that you have to resort to acting like a 5 year old with the same, lame, type of insults. Why just not ignore what you don't care about? Wouldn't that make more sense? Be the smart thing to do? |

Wouldn't it just make more sense for you to simply cease and desist from this site and ply your Heat Loving wares elsewhere??? ...as opposed to misguidedly mistaking it for some kind of open NBA basketball forum...like the moron you are??? |

"Being a fan, doesn't mean you can't be objective. Why would you have a contest where you have to pick the same team every night, knowing full well that they will probably lose around 25-30 games? It seems like the contest is based around who can get closest to the final score or predict margin of victory? Seems to me like the contest would be more fun and challenging if you also were actaully trying to pick the winner and the score. Picking against them doesn't mean you are not a fan or don't want them to win, does it? Sort of like Heat/Nuggets game 2 nights ago. Most Heat fans would have picked against the Heat as far as thinking they were going to win. That doesn't mean any of them would have wanted them to lose. |

Picking against them doesn't mean you are not a fan or don't want them to win, does it? considering that you even ASKED this question pretty much says it all, but then what would YOU know about being a fan...? considering TRUE fans don't switch teams either you pretty much let yourself out of this little debate... Do you think I forgot how stupid you are????You think I forgot about that stupid Lakers prediction you guys been doing for years now? You have yet to pick the Lakers to lose a game in the last 3 years.Hey, numbnuts, you're referring to the dpw's Annual Lakers Board Prediction Contest, which is a game to game contest wherein you're actually penalized if you pick against the Lakers and end up being wrong. It's not like I pulled a Metta, and made a preseason prediction for the entirety of the season! |
