Why Eli Manning is Overrated

Eli was actually the reason the defense gave up all those points because all the turnovers he gave away.  You can't avg an interception a game and not expect your defense to struggle. You wonder why you were trailing? Couldn't possibly be because of Eli's terrible play

Giants have missed the playoffs 2x out of the last 3 years

  right and the defense was god awful the two times the giants have missed the playoffs with Eli as their QB, their offense was ranked in the top 8 both years.. the Steelers have missed it twice both times the steelers werent ranked in the top3 ... and its not like their defense was terrible.. they were ranked inside the top 12

Going into Sunday vs Pittsburgh....Giants 77 points they scored up to that point were off turnovers which is a 3rd of their points. Giants have 3x the amount of turnovers the Steelers have this year talking about defense here.  Throwing for a ton of yardage doesn't impress me you baffoon. This is the last time I'm posting it on this thread.  Half of his TDs came in the 4th quarter because he was forced to throw because he was mediocre to start the game.

I suppose leading the league in ints doesn't help. I mean ESPN even posted a preview for the 2011 season still up saying they got to cut down on the turnovers if they want to make the playoffs.

Yardage never has decided football games.  Yardage doesn't impress me.....mediocre football teams have to keep throwing til the final second. That is what the Giants have to do all the time....which is why when you throw you gain more yardage than when you run. Ever wonder why teams throw in the final minute if they are trailing? Not only does it stop the clock, but you also gain a ton of yardage by throwing. Good football teams usually are the ones trying to run down the clock with the ground game.

The team finished with the same record as a team that went to the playoffs in the Ravens. 9-7, but Ben's record is 9-6. Chiefs knocked him out in OT in 2009 which eventually led to a loss. Another loss to the Ravens happened the following week because doctors wouldn't clear him to play. 3rd string Dennis Dixon led the team to a loss in that game.   Ben was a pro bowler in 2009. He had a stat line better than most in the league. Defense played terrible in the 4th quarter when the Steelers had the lead. Similar to how they are playing this year early on w/Titans, Raiders, and Broncos. Ben was on the sideline watching his defense in the final seconds give up the lead. 2006, Ben had the worst year of his career mainly because of the motorcycle accident that almost ended his life. That is one of the main reasons I keep away from discussing 2006. Obviously the crash did cause his performance to suffer. Never has played like that since.....

Field goals, dropped passes, special teams, and the defense were reasons for the failure in 09. Not Ben or the offense. In some games of course they had some bad ones, but giving up 21 points in the 4th quarter to the worst offense in the league with Gradkowski who started for the Raiders that day. He is currently the backup for the Bengals behind Dalton. Ben answered after 2 of the scores given up with TDs, but still ended up giving up the lead.

You are so inconsistent. You say the Giants defense gives up a lot of points bc of turnovers. But in the post season for the Steelers, you say their defense gives up many points but don't take into consideration Ben throws a lot of INTs in the post season leading to easy points for the opposing team.

Actually Giant fans have used it against me before which is why I'm using it now. Isn't so nice when the shoe is on the other foot is it? I never took shots at Steelers defense except maybe the Broncos game last year. They were downright terrible vs Tebow. He completed just 10 passes and threw for 300+ yards. How many QBs can say that they did that?Eli completed 10 passes this year vs the Steelers and only had 124 yards passing total.
