That's nice turnip - too bad LeBron's popularity is somewhat limited to the continental United States...

Kobe Bryant is still the biggest brand in the NBA.   Others are in line for his crown, but if you want to use an NBA star to sell shoes or soft drink or whatever internationally, Kobe is the gold standard.   And he can sell jerseys, too.   The league announced the top NBA jersey sales internationally and Kobe was on top again. He sold the most jerseys in China, the most in Europe and the most in Latin America, too. Kobe is a true global brand. This really isn’t a surprise.   Second on the international list is Derrick Rose of the Bulls, followed by LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo. Carmelo Anthony, Blake Griffin and Kevin Durant round out the top 10.   Spain’s stars Pau Gasol (11) and Ricky Rubio (15) are in the top 15, while France’s Tony Parker is 13th.

Your missing the point. James was never hated universally. Nobody in China, Europe, or anywhwere else gave a damn about a TV show or a teams fan celebration.

It's not about money. They both have plenty.

No, you're missing the point, moron!

You obviously went out of your way to herald LeBron's emerging popularity by trying to call attention to some new US jersey sales statistic, clearly at Kobe's expense, and I merely pointed out how myopic your point of view really is.

You're probably right, nobody outside of the US cares about LeBron's misguided attempt to publicize his free agency by foisting "The Decision" onto a nationally captive TV audience, and fewer still likely saw the clip highlighting LeBron's laughable participation in the utterly pathetic and bombastic "Yes.We.Did Celebration" worldwide...but none of that mitigates the fact that Kobe is still the much bigger brand and more popular player in the game today...globally...a point of status that I'm sure your boy still strives to one day attain.

Actaully, factually, you are.  Where did I mention Kobe?

I merely showed you that James was a very popular player in the NBA. Matter of fact, #1 by sales jerseys in the US.  If he was hated as you claim, that couldn't happen.  2 groups still hate on James. As I said, Cavs and Laker fans. Period..

Whatever you say. Who knows? Who cares?

They are both global megastars, both top 10 to ever play the game.

I know one thing, if you took 2000 people and split them up evenly and said one group could mmet James and the other Kobe, both groups would be perfectly happy with whoever they got.
