twisted, it seems like you're saying the media doesn't mention it, and yet u cite the media's mentioning it?

medical history is not the kind of thing likely to become public immediately in any kind of situation. i see nothing suspicious about that kind of info not hitting the media right away. if you're simply saying they don't give it enough coverage when it DOES become known, again, i wouldn't know, i don't follow the news like that.

my only interest was in expressing my opinion about whether or not there's a cause/effect thing happening here. i don't think there is, at least in terms of ritalin. other drugs are a different discussion. i have far deeper suspicions about certain other classes of meds than ritalin. in fact, i kinda think u and i have similar ideas, but u lumped ritalin in erroneously ;)

Cutter I'm not Bob but here's my 2 cents.  Those long term deals helped teams circumvent the salary cap.  There's supposed to be a hard cap but there really isn't if teams are signing players to long term super front loaded deals.  The bigger problem imo is smaller market teams aren't going to be able to hold onto their star players when there are 6 or 7 owners more then willing to throw boat loads of up front cash to these guys.  But the NHLPA loves teams who go over the salary cap using trickery and cool little tricks.  It means more money for everybody.... well more money for everybody except the small to mid market owners.

This is terrible news, nothing worse than getting your life cut from you before it even began, terrible.

Lots of legal jargon going on today with the lockout, looks like its going to courts, players to vote on dissolving the union, same thing the nba did , and then 12 days later they ended the lockout, "disclaimer of interest" which would mean that fehr can't bargain on the union's behalf, maybe he'll get his $8M bonus.

An awful trajedy today.  We were lucky in Portland as the wacko's gun jammed and he couldn't shoot.

Kesler's rehab to his wrist and shoulder are lazily flowing down the CBA river.  Nice to see checks rolling in.

It was nice of the mediators to show up from a free lunch, I didn't see anything positive in their attendance.

Who the hell knows, one theory is a good as the next.   Both sides are egotistical morons collectively.    Bill Daly has everybody on his side standing on a  hill somewhere and the players are pumping themselves up with gritty grindy righteous indignation like they are on some junior club.     

Now they are racing to get to the courts as if one side wins because they got there first.    I don't know.
