Rock, on your Dec. live recording of Picott and Shires, you listed a song on disc (set?) 2 called "Moscow Idaho".  How do I get this song, the lyrics at least?

Koy, "Moscow, Idaho" is on Rod Picott's Summerbirds album.  I couldn't find the lyrics online, so I transcribed them for you:

ROD PICOTT:  "Moscow, Idaho"

Moscow, Idaho, little nothing dress

Now Mama’s little baby is such a pretty mess

In Moscow, Idaho

Black mascara eyes, stolen lipstick red

All them drugstore colors spinning ‘round your head

In Moscow, Idaho

Methamphetamine says you dance all night

See-through heels until the morning light

It’s like Mama said, you’ll come to no damn good

So you do it like she said you would

In Moscow, Idaho.

Local boys don’t talk and

They don’t catch your eye

Scatter just like birds when you walk on by

In Moscow, Idaho

Sew your heart with wires,

Spend your love like dimes

All you’re keeping anyway is time

In Moscow, Idaho

All you’re keeping anyway is time

In Moscow, Idaho

Koy, here's the webpage; you can download a Zip File of the entire concert or you can stream it.  I believe you can stream individual songs, too, but I can't do that from here at work.

DWIGHT YOAKAM:  [3 Pears]

Product Description

Grammy-Award winner Dwight Yoakam presents his first all new studio album in seven years, 3 Pears (Warner Bros. Records). The 12-track release, his 26th, is produced by Yoakam, along with two songs co-produced with Beck: "A Heart Like Mine" and "Missing Heart".

3 Pears exemplifies Yoakam s ability to incorporate multiple, competing influences into a piece of cohesive art. It balances his country core with a fiercely independent embrace of rock, Americana, pop and soul and builds on his trademark edginess with a notable, growing positivity. 3 Pears contains heartfelt love songs, which showcase Yoakam s authentic country vocals while maintaining his unmistakable classic sound.

Good Morning All!

I am currently listening to some new purchases I made on my trip to California.  Whenever I go to LA, I go to Amoeba records, which is a killer, independant music store in Hollywood.  They have a tremendous used music section, where all of my new acquisistions came from.

First on the list is:

The Jam: At The BBC- The Jam

This 3-disc set is beyond comprehensive and captures all of the power and excitement of this great band from the beginning to the end.  Here is a bit of what allmusic.com had to say about the collection:

Completed by a booklet rounding up the bandmembers' own recollections of both the band and the BBC, [The Jam at the BBC] captures a side of[the Jam] that their core catalog has long cried out for. It might well be the best album they've ever released.
