Everyone on radio is saying Ohio St. should have played ND for the NT. Really? Alabama would have crushed them too. We saw that movie before. OS goes undefeated and touted to win the NT and gets crushed by SEC champ. 7 in a row for the conference. Winning the SEC should get you a bye until 4 other teams play for the right to lose to you.

Watching bama kill ND makes me wonder if Georgia was the #2 in the country? They almost beat bama in that SEC championship game.

Now I really want Ogletree, watch he will go before we pick and we will select Te'o, kind of like the Mendenhall pick. I hope it doesn't turn out that way.

What about the Brandon Jenkins kid from FSU, if he decides not to redshirt and enter the draft we might be able to get him on the cheap, he was projected to have a big year this year before he got the Lisfranc injury.

Mano , BBM, I pretty much stated Te'o to the Bears at 20, I will live with that. I don't see him going past 26, and I think we can agree top 10 is unlikely now. We are an emotional group, dropping him 10 spots is pretty level headed, a half round is possible but a full round as some have joked about seems like an over-reaction. NY

Anyone notice Alabama ran to the side Michael Williams was on, ALOT!!!!! This guy is going to be a very good NFL TE. He may not be the reciever that Gronk is but he is very good blocker and he CAN catch the ball if it's thrown to him. Good fit for Haly's offense.

Anyway to get back to the subject, competition has to be one of the most important factors on our board. Houston had 8 sacks in a very good conference and to me that translated to more ability than a guy in the Pac 10. Doesn't mean it's always going to be that way but I think the same thing has to apply when we rank Ogletree, Minter and Teo. The competition is just so much better in the SEC that you have to rank the first two higher - as someone in here has already said.

Just my opinion.

Great point beach and make sure you remind us as we evalute and slot players.... good stuff.

along with conference - this is eggs-actly the reason i like watching the senior bowl so much - and the week of practice (only wish NFL Network would show us more practice) - to see some of these kids with the some of the best players and vs some of the kids from these top conferences like the SEC..

First year for me having NFL Network at home. Could watch at work but they call it work for a reason. Can't wait to set the DVR! Cool

Lym will be about 160 by then but we'll wheel him around!

I would agree if this was the NFL where the talent level is relatively even. Everyone has a bad game. But this is his one and only game against the best of the best (college) and he is seriously overmatched.

Tough Crowd? Yep, Ogletree and Minter POP out on tape. Warrior, Te'o will go to a 4-3 team and have a solid career. He's no Patrick Willis that's for sure.

Btw lets not all start crowning Alabama prospects just because the team is good. I won't mention last years crop since its too early but there's been elite prospects who already have a bust label including marcell darius(3rd overall 2011) , James Carpenter (25th overall 2011) , etc. what this team does doesn't mean much to me.

Warrior, you have a point. Add to that list the guy we passed on Hightower .i stand by the David DeCastro pick. Still like Fluker and Warmack, lukewarm on Jones. Lacy I like as well. Carpenter was a reach, Dareus tough one to see. 7th overall pick was a huge reach but Mark Barron had a nice 2012.

Yeah, I just think its obvious the better the team is the more standouts their will be. Agreed about conference play. Which is why a guy like ogletree could pan out, but I'm always weary of taking a guy on a team like bama. Doesn't mean there aren't guys on great teams who do pan out of course. As for Te'o I'm still not going to judge him based on one game considering the whole Irish team got abused. Pretty tough to single out one player. I understand you and probably a few others already didn't view him as that elite of a prospect, so I get why this would justify your opinion. But I don't necessarily agree that the Irish had a weak schedule. Te'o had some very solid games against some good teams. Anyone that is disregarding Te'o now, just do me a favor...scroll back to the pages where Te'o dominated games. Everybody here was drooling over him...a lot making comments about us forgetting about him because he will be a top ten pick, etc.

Guilty on the top 10 pick call I had lots of company though. Notre Dame got USC without Barkley and Sunseri almost beat them. I think He is more of a fit in a 4-3 like Urlacher, so I started to downplay him about 5 pages ago. I also like Banks much more a week ago, the. I read some scout details and dropped him out of mid-first. Now if he runs 4.4 in Indy I may move him up. On 'Bama I like Dial as later round guy. Jesse Williams I like better than Hankins and Jenkins. Hankins motor idles too much, Jenkins did not play last week due to poor grades in the classroom.

. Te'o had some very solid games against some good teams.
-----------------

Not his only questionable game - go queue up the Pitt game.   Disappearing act for the most part..  and I disagree with you about players on Bama and the SEC in general - they have a much better rate of success in the NFL than players from other conferences - for one thing along - competition.  Are they all successful - no...  that's why the draft is nothing more than an educated guess.

Manti Teo might have just dropped out of the 1st round. Not the same player against SEC competition.

I think that 97 yard drive just dropped him another round.

Chance Warmack to the Rams, I could buy that.  The problem I am seeing in Mocks is the persons doing the mocks don't have a clucking foo as to what Tomlin is  looking for.  The guy I DO NOT SEE the Steelers taking is the NT out of Ohio State, Hankins. All world talent, work ethic of a guy on Food stamps. I think that is the reason Alemeda Ta'amu fell last year to mid fourth, his motor idled too often.

Still like the kid Spencer Nealy to come in and compete for a backup 5 technique, love the guys motor and the ability to fight through double teams. For whatever reason I find late round DL players all the time, this is one I really like.

Watching the NFL yesterday, we got a lot right. Specifically Glover Quin. Liked him a lot coming out, here's a 6th rounder playing the nickel and he shut down Gresham.  Last week in the Cleveland game, Ishmally Kitchen made a play or two. Finding the late round guys will make or break your draft, or your team, it's the most challenging and the most fun.
