Predicitons for the off-season

January 9, 2013 1:55 pm
It's actually fact

No...just your opinion.    On a team that runs the ball as much as the Vikings and a QB that can only throw the ball a few yards he had a great year going until he was hurt ....... Not sure where you were but he was talked about on the networks as the main reason the Vikings got off to the start that they did and said he should be considered in those conversations for MVP at that time prior to his injury. He was first in YAC, one of top in receptions and first in all purpose yards prior to his injury and averaging over 32 yards in kick off returns.  He only missed 3 games in his first 3 years and played in 16 games last season and you consider him injury proan ??? Guess that's just your opinion again, just looking for another reason to bash him??

I think it's you that is whining.....get rid of the best all round player on our team ??? Give your head a shake. Show me anything that a team mate or coach said he was out of line or disrespectful and YOUR OPINION doesn't count. They have said what a great team mate he is, what an incredible talent he is, great work ethic and I believe Chad Greenway even said he's the best all round player in the league. I think his opinion might matter a little more since he actually plays with him. Is he a hot head ?? sure Is he an elite talent ??? yes. If Frazier and his team mates don't have a problem with him why should anyone else.

I didn't say he wasn't having a great year did I?

Not sure where you were but he was talked about on the networks as the main reason the Vikings got off to the start that they did

Again, I didn't say he wasn't having a good year. Was he the reason they won 4 straight to end the season? Maybe just maybe the team was pretty good with him and they were pretty good without him.

He was first in YAC

Really? even though he was averaging less than 11 yards per reception?

He only missed 3 games in his first 3 years and played in 16 games last season and you consider him injury proan ??? Guess that's just your opinion again, just looking for another reason to bash him??

He also had alot of time on the sideline due to headaches and other little things, never said he was injury prone. Try to read what I write not what you think I mean. I like him as a player, I don't like that he cried to the media. Is that ok with you? Am I allowed to voice my opinion on that?

I think it's you that is whining.....

Thankfully I don't give a chit what you think.

Show me anything that a team mate or coach said he was out of line or disrespectful and YOUR OPINION doesn't count.

So, because other players on the team aren't whiny little punks and cry to the media Percy is a well liked lovable guy? Do you go around telling people at work you don't like them? Do you go crying to your boss if you work with someone who you don't care for? If you do you are an idiot. Everyone works with people they don't like, you try to do the best job you can and live with it, period!

What do you think they are gonna say? You really think they are gonna just rip him a new one. Do you? elite talent? Nope. Your opinion isn't fact. is Reggie Bush an elite talent? How do you know Frazier and his teammates don't have an issue with him? Are you there, you in the locker room with the team? Quit making it sound like you have a clue of what you're talking about, you have done nothing but state opinion throughout your entire post. Fact is he has never started 16 games in a season, fact is he has never had 1000 yards receiving, fact is he has never scored double digit TD's, fact is he has never lead the Vikings to a Championship. You can't be good at everything and be considered elite. You kinda have to be elite to be considered elite.

So more of just your opinion that he's an issue ...like I said you have no proof Nos just trying to pass off your opinion as fact again.

Because he said so lol....again more of you acting like your opinion is fact yet you have nothing to base it on. You can't come up with one report that a coach or player is having an issue with Harvin ...maybe you should go work for the national inquirer.

Percy is living in his own little world where everything revolves around him.  There are quite a few documented examples of his altercations with previous coaches.  But I also think that it is somewhat overblown by the sensationalist media.  They love to speculate whether he will remain with the Vikings or not, but ultimately I think he will get a long term deal done with the Vikings.  The right coach can handle a personality like his, and I think Frazier has the demeanor to do that.  He has to because he knows he can't afford to lose such a talented player.

Let me know hutch, what did I say that wasn't a fact?

1. He has never started 16 games in a season?

2. He has never reached 1,000 yards receiving?

3. He has never scored double digit touchdowns?

4. He has never lead the Vikings to a Championship?

5. The Vikings were just as good without him this year? 5 - 4 in games he played, 5 - 2 in games he didn't play.

6. He did come out and voice his displeasure to the media?

Which one is not a fact? Come on hutch, which one?

Another fact for you, it is YOU who passes off your opinion as fact.

The guy is elite and the Vikings get it done.

He is not elite, yet you are saying it as if he is, trying to push your opinion as fact.

this from Frazier....enough said...just like in the summer, media and some misguided fans who buy into the media crap are misinformed and making something out of nothing.

Then you try to pass this off like it means anything at all, do you really expect Frazier to come out and say, Percy, yeah he's a cancer on the team but what can I do? Enough said, why, because you said so? There is nothing misguided about the FACT he cried to the media.

You must be joking rats.......you've never seen Brady, Manning have little fits with coaches and players???  happens alot.  Heck, Rodgers ran off the field having a little hissy fit in our game at the dome....

Then this little pearl of wisdom. I guess since a few of the better players to ever play in the NFL did it, it's ok for an above average WR who hasn't won jack since being in the NFL to do it. It's called knowing your place, Percy is not the leader of this team and likely never will be (that is my opinion). Brady, Manning, Rodgers = LEADERS, guys who have done something.

maybe you should go work for the national inquirer.

Further proof you are an ignorant moron.

Peace...

Predicitons for the off-season

What was my point you ask? NONE OF THOSE THINGS WERE LIES! Nothing that I have stated is a lie, all of that was fact. It is my opinion that he's a headcase and a spoiled little child and we should trade him, I didn't say that was a fact. Somebody with the stats I showed is not elite it doesn't matter that you think so or I don't think so it's just FACT. You said i'm trying to push my opinions as facts and I have not done that. You on the other hand have, either that or maybe you need to lookup what the word elite means.

I guess there is a list of who can and who can't get a little over emotional at times... Yes there is those people are called leaders, Percy does not belong in that category, at least not yet.

I am not sure if you ever played organized sports or not but if you did you would know that when one of the players on the team cries or acts like a d-bag he is looked at like a punk and losses the respect of some of his teammates. The fact nobody has come out and ripped him doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

All the other junk you posted means nothing, it's just you losing again. I have become used to it.

Hutch / Nos......See you guys are at it again!!!!! You guya are a real trip but Viking brothers nonetheless...Save the bashing for the Pecker****, Fair Bears and Loins fans.

As I've said 1,000 times what we post is our opinion, nothing more and nothing less.

You both bring up valid points but they're only YOUR opinions.....Maybe right, maybe wrong, who knows. What we do know is that Harvin is a very talented individual, tends to have physical and mental issues that have prohibited him from playing a complete year and is needed by the Vikes if we are to continue to improve.

Harvin may be a head case and somewhat full of himself or he may feel that he deserves more money based on his performance this year and past years. I don't know the scoop on this guy but I do know he can help get us to the promised land. Throw him some money if that's what he wants and deserves and get other players around him and AD so all the pressure is not only on them. Be more creative and unpredictable in play calling and utilized all your players in the offensive schemes and maybe this will calm him done a bit.

Don't really know what the answers are here but we do need his talent and staying healthy if we are to improve.

Ask and ye shall receive.

In [a Sporting News piece] on Urban Meyer’s legacy at Florida, writer Matt Hayes dredges up a rather alarming incident involving one-time Gator and current Vikings star Percy Harvin. It seems Meyer had something of a special arrangement for Harvin and his other big-time players, essentially allowing them to do whatever they wanted. This (not shockingly) created something of an undisciplined culture within the Florida program, and according to Hayes, Harvin took full advantage of the chaos to act like a colossal jerk. Hayes recounts:

It was Harvin, more than anyone, who epitomized the climate Meyer created. While former players say Harvin always was treated differently as a member of Meyer’s Circle of Trust, it was the beginning of his sophomore season—after he helped lead the Gators to the 2006 national title—that it became blatant. That’s also when it began to contribute negatively toward team chemistry.

During offseason conditioning before the 2007 season, the team was running stadium steps and at one point, Harvin, according to sources, sat down and refused to run. When confronted by strength and conditioning coaches, Harvin—who failed to return calls and texts to his cell phone to comment on this story—said, “This (expletive) ends now.”

“The next day,” a former player said, “we were playing basketball as conditioning.”

It only got worse as Harvin’s career progressed. At one point during the 2008 season, multiple sources confirmed that Harvin, now a prominent member of the Minnesota Vikings, physically attacked wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales, grabbing him by the neck and throwing him to the ground. Harvin had to be pulled off Gonzales by two assistant coaches—but was never disciplined.

When asked about the Harvin incident, Gonzales—now offensive coordinator at Illinois—said, “I think it’s a little overblown. I mean, every great player wants his voice to be heard.”

Said Meyer: “Something did happen and something was handled. I don’t think it’s fair to Percy Harvin or Billy Gonzales to talk about it.”

The above was not written by me and it is not my opinion.

Another arcticle I found. Who knows you may be wrong about Percy being a great guy and teammate. I love the zing about him being a "headache" to the Vikings, pretty clever that.

In June, receiver [Percy Harvin] asked the Vikings to trade him.  He later changed his mind.

Now, his mind could be changing back again.

In the aftermath of a report this week from Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com that Harvin and coach Leslie Frazier engaged in a “[heated exchange]” before Harvin’s placement on injured reserve, there is plenty of scuttlebutt regarding the question of whether Harvin will ask again to be traded — and whether this time the Vikings will decide to grant his request.

Though he is one of the best offensive players in the league, Harvin has been a headache for the Vikings for most of his career.  He battled with former coach Brad Childress, and the fact that Harvin has gotten under the skin of current coach Leslie Frazier, who is as even-keeled and low key as any coach at any level of the sport, speaks volumes to the problems Percy has caused.

Then there’s the fact that he surely will want to be paid huge money before his rookie contract expires after the 2013 season, and that’s an investment the Vikings may not want to make.

Harvin’s salary expectations won’t make it any easier to trade him.  At a minimum, what the next team will have to pay Harvin likely will reduce whatever package is available to Minnesota in the form of pick(s) or player(s).

As the Vikings push toward the postseason without Percy, they may decide that, in the long run, they’re better off without him.

I did not write the above arcticle and it is not my opinion.

Predicitons for the off-season

I read that article to......and Frazier said there is no concerns and said there is nothing uneasy about Harvin. Again, I'll take Fraziers word over some media guy all the time.....these are the same reporters that lied about the summer confrontation. Just like you this guy is giving an opinion without any fact ........that heated exchange could have been about being put on injury reserve and harvin not wanting to......nothing wrong with that but I'm sure you'll think there is.

What do you expect him to say? You can't possibly be stupid enough to think he's just going to come out and rip Percy apart can you?

exchange could have been about being put on injury reserve and harvin not wanting to

Very true and it also could have been him acting like a pain in the a$$ again.

So now anything negative about Percy is a lie, wow, you are amazing. Is it a lie that he choked and threw his coach down at Florida? You said I couldn't find anything showing he had a negative impact on coaches or teammates and I have and you just say it's a lie.

Clasic stuff hutch.
