I just looked at the scoring for the free play, but don't understand 2 things.

First, there are positive points for penalty minutes.  It gives players including goalies positive points. Huh!

Second, what does plus/minus mean?

It is a bit of an Oxy Moron.......reward for a mistake........1/4 of a point for EACH penalty and it has always been that way.

If your on the ice and your team scores a goal.................+ plus



If your on the ice and the oppsing team scores a goal........- minus

You have Crosby and he is playing the Devils  and scores the first goal...............................

Then in the 2nd period the Devils score and tie it up when Crosby is on the ICE...................+2 points  for Sidd

It is a bit of an Oxy Moron.......reward for a mistake........1/4 of a point for EACH penalty and it has always been that way.

I cross check Larry.  Does Larry get a quarter of a point or do both of us?

I think they should give points for most penalty minutes.

We EACH get a 0.25 (1/4) of a point for each player that takes a penalty.....it would be cool if at the end of the scoring week we got a BONUS for most PIM's by a player.
