I now they upped the fine players could get in this CBA $10,000 for first time offender and 20,000 max (plus game checks) for repeat offenders, but did they change the over the phone/in person hearing rules?

I like that head shots are a penalty. But I'm not a fan of so many suspension from them. Orpik laid out Kreider the other night on a beautiful open ice body check. But the margin or error with a hit like that is about an inch. If Kreider leans forward a little bit more and his head is one lower and Orpik hits one inch higher its a head shot. When talking about 2 moving objects it is gonna happen for time to time. Any head shot should be a penalty just to make guys avoid as much as possible, but its still going to happen. Now if your skates leave the ice or you chicken wing him with an elbow that is a different story. When the rule first came out I liked it but I think I mess understood it. I thought they were trying to cracked down on the Cooke/Savard & Richard/Booth type hit were the hitter is coming from an angle were he can't be seen. But the Joe Thorton got suspended for hitting (Perron?) who was skating straight into him and head contact was made. I didn't agree with that suspension.
