Early Draft Opinion

Like many of you I'm still trying to figure out exactly what we need and who we need to get into the facility.  While thinking about it I have come to the conclusion that we need a big back on the roster and Eddie Lacy in the first could fill that spot, although if he isn't there I believe that we should move back so we can acquire more depth.  The second round I think should be used on a player out of Southern Missouri (Brandon Williams), I know he is from a small school but has impressed me quite a bit at the Senior bowl and has good CAREER numbers.  The third pick I think we should draft Kevin Reddick, a inside linebacker who has also done well at the senior bowl.

I will always disagree on wasting a 1st round pick on a RB, because there are plenty just as good in the later rounds and free agency.

I like this idea.  Never heard of the kid, but he looks like he can play football.

We don't need to use a first round pick on Lacy.  Might get him in the second round.  Still think that's too early.

RB's that I'd be ok with us going after:

Le'Veon Bell:  6'2" 240lbs  3rd round.
Montee Ball: 5'11" 210 lbs 3rd round (not quite the size but runs like he's 240).
Spencer Ware: 5'11" 223 lbs 5th round.
Knile Davis: 6'1" 226 lbs 6th round.
Chrisine Michael: 5'11" 215 lbs 6th round. 

I cannot believe what I am about to say but I agree with Master.  A RB in the first or second is way too high unless they are the next LT/AP/etc.  I don't think it matters who we pick up, as long as Manning is the QB we will emphasize the pass. 

We could use a RB that can get the tough yards and move chains to close out a game but I think our O-line will contribute more to that then a RB would.  I would much rather prefer chasing the all-illusive MLB and get a defense that shuts down the opposing offense whether we are ahead or behind.   

Master, I agree with you but I disagree.. If anybody watched the Alabama game against N.D. you could see why I want this guy.  Do you think if we moved back in the 2nd we could still get him?  Saying that, I like Bell alot also but he has alot of carries already which IMO isn't good at this stage of the game, while Lacy doesn't have too much wear and tear yet. 


What do you think of Mike Gillislee in the 4th or even Lattimore in the 5th?  I know Lattimore probably won't be available until next season but that is when we are really going to need him.  

 Do you think if we moved back in the 2nd we could still get him? 

Don't know for sure.  I don't see any mock drafts with him in the first.  Besides, there are plenty of RB's just as good as him.

I have no problem drafting RB's in the 4th or 5th round.

 I know Lattimore probably won't be available until next season but that is when we are really going to need him.
