I think it's extremely difficult to second guess what they are doing right now. The staff has had a stellar recruiting class this year and I trust their judgement completely. I basically think that they know they have two more spots not counting this and it's a no brainer. Less than two week before signing day. Go Irish.

It looks Like Fitts will be next.  I think that means we are out on Vanderdoes.

The bottom line is we are fininshing stronger than last year. We lost Darby, Greenberry and Shepard fairly late in the game. That's what winning does, it gives you that cohesiveness to keep the class together. If you remember correctly we got a big suprise signing day with Te'o so you never know. Cross your fingers.

WE might be out, but, I don't think the coaches will give up on a player unless they run out of spots.   He is way to good and I hope they keep going after him.      Is their anybody we have to worry about losing yet?

Hm....for a 3* prospect, he sure did have quite a few big time offers....ND, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, OK St, Oregon, Texas, and Texas A&M.  Apparently the coaches around the country value this kid a little bit more than the folks on Rivals....I suppose I do remember picking up another 3* TE back in the 2009 class that was the same height as this kid, 10lbs lighter and rated slightly lower than Smythe....I suppose his career worked out pretty wellWink  Who knows, maybe another diamond in the rough for Tight End U!

Great pick up.....I think we have a shot a Vanderdoes....it will be ND or Bama.....they will have a scholarship available for him if he decides on ND.....

I think we are on the outside looking in on Vanderdoes, although he is going to play it close to the vest until NSD.  I think we definitely impressed Fitts and we could come away with his commitment as well.  Vanderdoes would be a great get, and a player with that size is needed every cycle.

If the CBS article is to be believed, it seems that Vanderdoes will likely stay close to home, which means he'll settle back with USC, if not, he'll stay on the west coast.

Alabama and ND are the realistic opportunities East of the Miss. River for him.
