What fools you are I am.Fixed it for you. Now if we could just come up with a way to get you to stop being a coward. So when you coming to Fitchburg to prove me wrong about Monty Tech HS Marine JROTC having guns and training with them? Or just admit you're in fact an idiot on the matter, again either way I don't care because the end result is the same. What a coward. |

another idiotic thread about Obamacare. Where have you been since the bill was passed 2 years ago? I love the way you guys complain before you see the benefits. czimmy is telling you that there are benefits. The government is not exempt but have already the same system in place. Did you miss the SCOTUS decision on mandated insurance?better quality? Are you effing crazy? More people going in for health care with far less doctors to care for them...how does that equate to better care? Not to mention the fact in coming years we are going to see a larger decline in medical professionals available... I also wonder if the obese and smokers would have supported this program had they known over two years ago they would be hit with a penalty? What else have we not learned about...What's in it"? Maybe, people with screen names starting with "B" pay a large fine? lol |

More people going in for health care with far less doctors to care for them...how does that equate to better care? Yeah. How? Not to mention the fact in coming years we are going to see a larger decline in medical professionals available...Agreed. Why would you go through 12 years of college and work you ass off and never sleep to be paid the same as a teacher, who goes through 4 years of easy college doesn't work 8 hours a day, and only works 150 day a year? Here is the answer for heath care in the US: GET A FREAKING JOB! |

Agreed. Why would you go through 12 years of college and work you ass off and never sleep to be paid the same as a teacher, who goes through 4 years of easy college doesn't work 8 hours a day, and only works 150 day a year?I don't know. Luckily this is not the case, nor will it ever be the case, so it's pretty much irrelevant to the topic of healthcare in the U.S. Here is the answer for heath care in the US: GET A FREAKING JOB THAT OFFERS HEALTH INSURANCE (meaning don't go into business for yourself and don't pick one of the millions of jobs that don't offer health insurance!Corrected that for you. You're welcome. |

I don't know. Luckily this is not the case, nor will it ever be the case, so it's pretty much irrelevant to the topic of healthcare in the U.S. Inaccurate. If the US goes to a socialized medical system, the government will pay doctors. And that will be some kind of salary system around the median income of the country. Here is the answer for heath care in the US: GET A FREAKING JOB THAT OFFERS HEALTH INSURANCE (meaning don't go into business for yourself and don't pick one of the millions of jobs that don't offer health insurance! You don't need a job that offers health insurance. You need a job that pays enough for you to pay for your medical care. Besides, name a company that doesn't offer medical insurance. |

Inaccurate. If the US goes to a socialized medical system, the government will pay doctors. And that will be some kind of salary system around the median income of the country. And on top of that, that means your taxes will be higher. Your tax increase will be more than the health insurance payments you make now. Why? Because now you are paying for all the jobless Americans to have healthcare. Might seem selfish to you, but I'm tired of paying for the slackers. I want to pay for me and mine. Get your own shit**** instead of leaching off of me. |

Those **** can't get anything right and you want them in charge of your health? The only other option is to keep it in the hands of private companies who are only in it for the money. I'm not sure our goverment is a worse option than a CEO who's just trying to increase his bonus by $500,000 by denying payments any which way he can. |

And on top of that, that means your taxes will be higher. Your tax increase will be more than the health insurance payments you make now. Why? Because now you are paying for all the jobless Americans to have healthcare. You're already paying for slackers. The entire point of mandating health insurance is to force everyone to pay in, in an effort to drop rates. Whether or not they put the right controls in place to make that happen remains to be seen. But right now we're already paying for people who don't have insurance to use the emergency room. That costs us a lot more than just helping them get regular healthcare. This is my point. Other countries give just as good or better care for half the cost per capita. You assume it would cost you more, but you're wrong. If done right, we could cut costs in half, meaning your extra taxes would be lower than your current premium. Hence you'd be paying less for those slackers than you already are. |

The entire point of mandating health insurance is to force everyone to pay in, in an effort to drop rates. That makes no sense. The people who can pay in, are paying in. All the changes are doing is adding more people who can't pay and raising my rate to pay for them. Other countries give just as good or better care for half the cost per capita. Simply not true. There is no better healthcare than the US, for those of us that pay for it. If done right, we could cut costs in half, meaning your extra taxes would be lower than your current premium.Inaccurate. Math only works one way. 50,000/50,000=1 1,000,000/50,000=20. |

That makes no sense. The people who can pay in, are paying in. All the changes are doing is adding more people who can't pay and raising my rate to pay for them.It makes perfect sense. The more people paying in, the less people have to pay. You are not paying more for the changes laid out by this law. Simply not true. There is no better healthcare than the US, for those of us that pay for it.I'm talking about results. Other countries get better results (and they get results for those who pay for the system). Inaccurate. Math only works one way. 50,000/50,000=1 1,000,000/50,000=20.Yes, math only works one way. So, if you put cost controls in place and have more people paying in, the amount each person has to pay is less. See how great math can be? You still seem to be missing the fact that we pay twice as much per capita as many other countries with socialized medicine. |

It makes perfect sense. The more people paying in, the less people have to pay.Except it's not more people paying in. It's the same people paying in, but just more people. Other countries get better results (and they get results for those who pay for the system).False. So, if you put cost controls in place and have more people paying in, the amount each person has to pay is less.Ahhhh. The old cost controls. So it goes back to the point before. You pay doctors less, you'll get less doctors. |

Except it's not more people paying in. It's the same people paying in, but just more people. You're missing the point. It's more people for the insurance companies. For their purposes, they now have more customers, regardless of where the money comes from. False.Well, that's one way to keep the facts out. Just proclaim them false and move on. Ahhhh. The old cost controls. So it goes back to the point before. You pay doctors less, you'll get less doctors. And as I already countered, plenty of other countries have such cost controls, and still get better results than we do. Amazing how that works, huh? Also, as I already pointed out, doctors' compensation is not the reason for the high costs. It's probably a small factor, but not the reason. |

But right now we're already paying for people who don't have insurance to use the emergency room.Pennies. Understand that when I go to the hospital to check for illness, the bill is upwards of $20,000.00. So you add another million people to that $20,000.00 and you have a significant increase in cost. If you socialize and make the cost less than that, then you will have fewer doctors, and poorer healthcare. It's simple math. My monthly premium of $140 for me and my daughter, for healthcare, dental and vision is nothing compared to if I had to pay for every jobless slacker to get the same healthcare. |

If you socialize and make the cost less than that, then you will have fewer doctors, and poorer healthcare. It's simple math.I'm not even sure how to respond after you contradicted yourself. Yes, if you go to the hospital, your bill is expensive. Hence, if you give people regular healthcare, preventing them from having to use the hospital nearly as much, you cut costs. A couple doctor's visits a year costs a lot less than one trip to the ER. My monthly premium of $140 for me and my daughter, for healthcare, dental and vision is nothing compared to if I had to pay for every jobless slacker to get the same healthcare. As I pointed out, you're already paying for everyone, and you're paying more than you could be with a different system. If you really want to pay less for the "slackers", then you'll push for a universal system with good cost controls. |

Inaccurate. If the US goes to a socialized medical system, the government will pay doctors. And that will be some kind of salary system around the median income of the country.Regardless of what happens, medical professionals will still get paid very well, just like they do in other countries with "socialized medical systems". You don't need a job that offers health insurance. You need a job that pays enough for you to pay for your medical care.If your employer doesn't offer health insurance, it'll cost you a ridiculous amount. Then you'd need a job paying well above the median income to afford it. Besides, name a company that doesn't offer medical insurance.I'll just give you this stat: Both the offer rate (the percentage of workers offered a health benefit) and the coverage rate for employment-based health benefits declined between 1997 and 2010. Between 1997 and 2010, the percentage of workers offered health benefits from their employers decreased from 70.1 percent to 67.5 percent, and the percentage of workers covered by those plans decreased from 60.3 percent to 56.5 percent. http://www.ebri.org/publications/ib /index.cfm?fa=ibDisp&content_id=5042 So, one third of workers don't have access to health insurance through work, hence my whole point. |

Regardless of what happens, medical professionals will still get paid very well, just like they do in other countries with "socialized medical systems".Medical professionals in countries with socialized medicine make less than half of the same professionals in the US. Nice try. If your employer doesn't offer health insurance, it'll cost you a ridiculous amount. If your job is mowin lawns, then your employer probably doesn't offer health insurance. I'm sure some do. There are very few businesses that don't offer health insurance. Like I said, get a job. That entails more than you goofing off in highschool so you can't get into college and get an education. That entails you getting off your ass and going to a trade school. The point is, get off your ass and get a job. |
