I have to deal with insurance companies every day, just not medical insurance companies. I can tell you that I always try to charge the s**ty ones as much as possible up front because I know that they are going to try to low-ball me as much as possible. It's a stupid game. Now, with the good and reputable companies, it's the opposite because they rarely give me any trouble and it's a mutual trust and respect both ways.I did the same thing when I worked as a project manager for a large commercial roofing company. After a while you knew which ones were the pain in the a s s s and charged them accordingly.
