Who? The whole league?  If you're talking about contenders then yes, but we're talking about the Heat.

Nothing changes Standings wise though.

Was about to say, even worse is that LAL didn't gain any ground on 8th place Houston.

So what's it going to be Heat vs Rockets tomorrow?   Go Miami or go Houston?

Whom to cheer for?  Whom to cheer for?   It's a tough one.......

These guys are not smart.

They rather be 4 games back instead of 3.

I meant you and trojan.  I have no wisdom (or maybe just a little) unlike either of you guys.  Cool

I am a little confused as to which wisdom to follow: one wants the Heat to win, the other wants Miami to lose???

ucfalu, you're all over the place this morning...get a hold of yourself...here, let me help;

Was about to say, even worse is that LAL didn't gain any ground on 8th place Houston.
What would be worse is if they lost ground. Always looking for the negative.
That's another way of looking at it.   I was following BK about the situation and wanting to complement LAL on the nice win.
Oh really?  You were looking to compliment the Lakers by saying, "even worse is that LAL didn't gain any ground on 8th place Houston"???  That's interesting.  BTW, word to the wise..."following" punchline (aka bksballer) has never helped anyone - the blind leading the blind.

Doesn't Kobe sell the most jerseys worldwide? I guess he is the most liked and most disliked athlete.
Maybe his jerseys were sold mostly to children and foreigner who can't read.  Those who can read and vote have spoken.
..."mostly to children and foreigner who can't read"???  How about morons who can't write???  falu, I got news for you, as polarizing a personality as Kobe is, he's got legions of fans everywhere - both nationally and internationally - and it's almost at an unprecedented level not seen since Jordan in his heyday.  Watch any Lakers telecast on the road you will invariably see literally entire parcels of Kobe fans cheering him on, no matter where he plays.

And since when is being disliked the equivalent of being a thug?
I am just using the same word that LAL fans have been using on James and Wade.
Name me any Lakers fan who has labeled either James or Wade as a "thug"?  Foolish, yes...thug, no.

Personally, I say GOOD!! I hope the Lakers are the most hated team too!! No one hates on the unsuccessful!!

I got more news for you - there have been several attempts to start other Heat-centric thread on the general board, including punchline's hilarious "Join the "Heat Lovers" club", which have all fallen on deaf ears and suffered ignominious fates...but I dare you to go ahead and try.

The "Heat Haters" club thread is the only truly enduring Heat related thread - 3,806,070 views and counting.  After all, it's become home to Heat loving trolls like you, twocoach, J_D, turnip, punchline.

I used to have wisdom, but I think I forgot it!!Tongue out

I guess it depends. CL's stance of not pulling for the Heat is the more principled as he doesn't care what a Heat win may do to help the Lakers, he stands on principle and pulls for the Heat to fail.

Mine is more self-serving. So, if I have to swallow my pride, get drunk, pull for the Heat and then shower afterward to pull for something that will help the Lakers, then so be it.

I do still see my way as a win-win. If the Heat win, it's helps the Lakers and if they lose, I have more reason to hate on them!!Laughing

Hurt my feelings? LOL it is just hilarious how certain Lakers fans prefer to see the Heat lose a regular season game to the game who's currently 3.5 games up on LAL for the final spot in the west.

Losing a home regular season game as defending champs doesn't mean the Heat failed. When you're a great team like Miami, OKC, SAS, and etc losing a regular season game doesn't mean much....Now when you're 3 games under .500 heading into game 50 that's a diff story.
it ain't about the Rockets winning, it's about the Heat TANKING...
Is it possible to tank in a game in February when you're one of the best teams in the league?

A failure? No. A disappointment, yes. They are not so heavily stacked that anything less than a title is a failure. There are several really good teams out there with as much talent as Miami has.

The Lakers not being a Top 4 seed in the playoffs with the roster they have is a FAILURE.

REALLY? for those of you who CONTINUE to tout the Heat as EASILY the next dynasty and one of the best teams of all time will only count this as a disappointment? suuuuurrrreee they will....

i call BS on that one. as far as the Lakers go we ALWAYS view getting less than a title a failure, so what else is new? guess SOME fans can see reality clearly, while other attempt to sugarcoat the issue...

Actually, this is incorrect. Pay attention because I'm about to tell you why the Lakers are the franchise that the Heat hope to one day be able to emulate:

Any season in which the Lakers do not win the championship, is a failure, regardless of the roster.

At the end of a season, when other teams are thinking "What do we have to do to get to the playoffs next year?" or "What do we have to do to make it farther into the playoffs next year?"

The Lakers are thinking "What do we have to do to win the championship next year?" And if it's following a season in which they won the championship, then it's "What do we have to do to win it again next year?"

That is how you win 16 championships.

okay cool... i dont hate the Lakers..  And i am enjoying Miami's run right now.   2 titles in 6 years.   Possibly 3 in 7.   4 in 8.   not one .. not 2... not 3..

this is fun for me.   i remember 15-67.   i remember the days of kevin edwards, harold miner, bimbo coles, alan ogg, alec kessler..  my team's blood line might not be as pure as LAs..  but we since 2006... we have been to 3 NBA finals, won 2.   and we got at least another 2 years with this team.    i will worry about irrelevance later... right now, we run this.  and this is these are the days i will remember 15 years from now talking crap about basketball with others.

this is our time..not yours.  sit back and watch.

yes, because i control the heat fate.

oh sorry.. i forgot all that nonsense about "we expect to win, so we will always be good."    sorry man, i am old enough to remember the 90s and the Magic johnson as coach days.    the NBA has changed man.  the new salary rules..  times are changing.. the NBA isnt the same as it was in the 70s and 80s.   but dont worry, you will believe you should win..rub a genie's lamp, click your heels 3 times and win a title.
