Just a humble interjection...
I think the Ducks are for real this year. Definitely playoffs (unless I just jinxed them) since the have played very well against the Kings and the Sharks. But is the Western Conference, overall, softer than the Eastern Conference, with the exception of Ducks, Kings and Sharks? |

But is the Western Conference, overall, softer than the Eastern Conference, with the exception of Ducks, Kings and Sharks? If they're softer, depending on how that's defined, they are better than the East in other areas. The West has usually had a good edge in play versus the East in recent years and the Cup wins are as evenly split as they can be going back the last 10 finals. I think the Ducks are for real this year. Definitely playoffs (unless I just jinxed them) since the have played very well against the Kings and the Sharks.I don't think anybody questions their top 2 lines but I think the Ducks' depth will be why people question their abilitiy to succeed. Seems like they're running into a nice goalie problem there too. I like Big bad Bruce as a coach. While I don't think they have enough skill on the bottom to crack the top 8, they've started out much better than just about anybody expected. If they keep it up for a couple more weeks, I think people will start getting used to the idea that they're a serious team for the postseason. I'm not there yet. Just a humble interjection...Emphatic assertions passed off as fact are acceptable in these parts. Digression is always welcome too. Insults, if creative, are greatly appreciated by most as well. |

i love the frank sinatra song strangers in the night - with the doobie doobie do part at the end.....
the funny thing is, that was the starting point when they "composed" the Scooby Doo theme song for the saturday morning cartoon show. "Scooby-Dooby Doo" was born from "Doobie-Doobie-Doo". here's a funny (juvenile-esque) parody regarding "Doobie-Doobie-Doo": Strangers in the night Exchanging rubbers in the night I need another, this one's too tight <CHORUS> |

last night i found out firsthand that the Nassau Colesium should only be used for Monster Truck & Tractor Pull Shows. that place is a freakin' PIG! i'm just really glad the Pens won or i would've marched right over to Farmer Ted's house and set him aflame. they really should relocate the NY Islanders to a worthy Canadian hamlet... like Moose Jaw or Kaloomps.

Anaheim Ducks - Until Bob Murray does something longterm with Getzlaf and Perry, the Ducks are flirtin' with disaster. If any injury hits the 37 and 40+ yr old forwards the Ducks will be hard pressed to find replacements. The Fasth story is nice, but unheralded rookies usually hit a wall early. I see the ducks fighting very hard just to make the playoffs.

But is the Western Conference, overall, softer than the Eastern Conference, with the exception of Ducks, Kings and Sharks? Even though the Kings won the cup last season I need to see a whole lot more consistency from them year to year before I start considering them an elite western conference team. I don't know why the Ducks are on anybody's list of teams to be reckoned with. The Sharks I agree with, they are an excellent team and a solid contender. I sure wouldn't forget about the Hawks, Canucks or Blues though. All three of those teams are dangerous and better then most eastern conference teams. As a matter of fact against the east last year those 3 teams were 37-11-6, pretty dominating if you ask me. The top teams in the west the last few years have completely crushed the eastern conference teams all season long. |
