OMER ASIK

I just can't figure this out sometimes

Let me help. 

Omer Asik is 3rd in rebounding in the league and averaging a double double.  He makes 5 million this year and next year. 

Asik is a center the hardest position to find in the NBA.  Gibson is a ppower forward one of the easiest to find in the NBA.

The Bulls lost one of the best rebounders in the league for nothing. 

Asik is averaging more points and rebounds per 36 minutes than Gibson.  When Asik was on the Bulls he averaged more blocks per minute.

Asik's value is greater than Gibson's value just because of the position he plays.  The fact he makes less money also should be factored in.  On top of that Joakim Noah is being run into the ground because they Bulls don't have a back up center.  Additionally Gibson was under contract for this season anyway.

Lastly, the best chance the Bulls had of being the Heat went out the window this off-season. 

lol asik got murdered by the Heat the year before in the playoffs. he was also the reason why we couldnt beat the 6ers last year thanks to his amazing free throw percentage and lack of defense.

he also makes 15 million the season after those which is as much as boozer more than luol and as much as a ton of studs in the nba which he is far from. when that season comes up everyone in the world will say he has the worst contract in the nba like hedo has now.

if asik was playing for noah while noah was out those couple of games he wouldve fouled out in the 3rd quarter lol while gibson played THE ENTIRE GAME AND HAD 19 points and 17 rebounds.

Lastly asik cant even guard other centers he is SLOW and stupid. While gibson can guard several positions.

In 2010/11 the Bulls played the Heat 8 times.

Asik had the second highest +/- minus for those games only behind Brewer.  Gibson had the second worst only behind Korver.

Asik was a +13, and he only missed 1 game.

Gibson was a -23. 

Asik had the highest +/- per minute on the Bulls. 

If you count only the playoffs Asik was at a 0 plus/minus while Gibson was -16.  Gibson at -16 was the 2nd worst Bull vs the Heat when it comes to +/-.

They offered him the most he could get.  No one could offer more.

To me it is looking fairly certain that Asik was the better choice to keep over Gibson. Its not that close. I thought at the time that the Bulls would be able to get Gibson cheaper than they did, cheaper than Asik, so I wasn't overly upset. But when we signed Gibson to that contract... Adding in watching just how succesful Asik has been with the Rockets. Its  a Pain.

Asik is one of the best interior defenders in the league hands down. The way he could contest a shot without fouling was basically unmatched.

gibson is 126th in the league and at 15.24 or something ABOVE AVERAGE

asik (your boiy) is 149th in the league and at 14.79 or something BELOW AVERAGE
