Wall looks so much better than the prior 2 years, really has grown up from a point guard standpoint, makes better decisions, and is making others better, thus the team better.  A healthy Nene playing with no minutes restrictions hepls lots also. We completed the two game big apple sweep last night.

I had only seen Nene play a couple times before he came here, and since he has been here he has been dinged up alot. he is healthy now and that dud is flat out a beast. I am not a big pro bb fan, but i have watched the games a little the last few weeks. I watched last night and that guy was not stoppable under the basket. i was actually impressed that when Brooklyn made their comback and got it back to single digits to see the Wizard maintain composure and the lead. Well played. They have now beaten just about every good team in the east. Too bad they had such a horrendous start. it is funny how little disparity there is between the worst team and a playoff team. if they had won 6 or 7 of theor first 20 games they would be in the hunt instead of the hunt for the #1 pick.

If the Wizards win tonight, they make the playoffs. It's the domino that needs to fall next. If they miss it, it's over.

Sitting here watching them win #4 in a row at Milwaukee and was thinking the same thing. They are playing like a team that's 35-15 but that sad start makes it a 15-35 reality. They seem to be pretty good when all are healthy and all the parts are working together but it's too little too late for this year. Love the optimism CptMasterShake, but they would have to go 27-5 the rest of the season to just make it to :500. Not a big Grunfeld fan, (see Jan Vesely pick), but this group seems to have most of the holes filled when they are all playing. Maybe look for a young big man who's not Vesely in the draft to spell Nene and Okafor. Beal and Wall I think will be a formidable back court duo once they have some time to finally play together. I don't think it's going out on a limb to say this team could be a decent playoff contender in a year or two if they can keep them heathy and together.

26 and 5 gets us to .500 at the end. 41-41. Not likely. Not impossible either. .500 has an ok shot at making it. Maybe lower than.500 does depends. It does happen. It think for u's to even have a small shot we need it to be one of those sub .500 years which would allow maybe a 22-9 or 23-8 finish to get u's in. Even that finish is a tough get for us, but I feel that's our Only realistic shot. Of course I'm always hoping and it's finally nice to be discussing this team doing well. My realistic thoughts though remain that next year could be the break through. I've stated on this board before about our contracts and cap situation and how it is most likely that except for a couple of draft picks , these guys will Be wiz next year also. Well if that is the case and we continue to move upward then good

reality check! ... loss at home to toronto.  When Wall and Nene go a combined 4-23 we are not winning that game.

Puts our hot streak in perspective.  Yes we are a better team than before, and can get better ... but playoff push will(if it happens) be next year, not this.

Crawford gone!!!! And for a couple of expiring contracts to boot!  Barbosa will never see the floor for us via injury, and Collins is what he is.   Good deal because , the last of the knuckleheads is gone!!!!

I would love to see KG's reactions once Crawford starts pulling his shelfish offensive play with the Celts.  Or then again maybe this is the best for him to go elsewhere and maybe straighten out his game.  Anyway, I'm just glad he's gone.  Good deal for the two expiring contracts also.  As I've stated before, gearing up for a run next year.  Now let's make the best of what's left this one.

Ahhhh ... a breath of fresh air.

I bet KG welcomes Jordan with a punch in the face. I can totally see that as the style of leader he is, and it is warrented.

Man I enjoyed watching that game. No more Crawford...feels good. Even though he was on the bench for 4 games prior to the trade, I still feel like a weight has been lifted.

Road wins, imagine that ... 3 game streak, imagine that .... certainly has gotten better .. should be fun to watch to see if we can continue to gain consistency and see less and less of the poor performances sandwiched in.

Now i kn0w i recently typed to late for this year, i'll stand by that... but in case no one has looked, 8 1/2 out of the final playoff spot.

Daub you are the eternal optimist. There are not enough games left to get in the playoffs. They are 10 games back in the loss column and with 27 games left that team may not even lose 10 more games. It would be nice to finish in a spot that allowed another high energy rookie for next year and set this team up for many years with a big three group, but there are not that many obvious impact draft picks this year I don't think, so they might as well try to finish 9th, which is acheivable. They are a fun group to watch when healthy, but unfortuntely a few important players are injury prone. They need to protect them a little the rest of the year, and maybe if they don't finish the season hurt they can spend the off season condtioning instead of rehabilitating. They have proven they can compete at a high level and have nothing left to prove this year.

I thought on draft day Beal was the perfect fit for this team but I had my doubts until the last few weeks. He just may turn out to be the real superstar instea of Wall, though Wall is no shlump either. His return allowed everyone else to go back to their normal position or role. They need to find somone to step in for him if he is hurt again so the rest of the team can stay in position. It seems they play their own role well, but so far are not verstile enough to win while out of position .nothing wrong with that, and a huge improvement over some teams past, but to do thatyou need a backup PG that yu can run with for a few weeks if yo uneed to.

I'm new to the Wizards fanbase. Going to UF I'm a huge fan of Beal, seeing him in person a number of times. What do I need to know about the Wizards, including some history, current players, and what holds for the future?

oh i know ... as i said i still recognize this season is lost as far as playoffs go ... just stating that the gap closed a bit(true not in the loss cloumn), really the corner turn as far as being a playoff threat hopefully will be next season.  I do like throwing the optimism out there for this team a little bit because i think they have turned a corner as far as not being horrible anymore.

I also was on Beal for a while, and was on here actively hoping he was the draft pick before draft day.  Talented and exactly what we needed.

yanksfan(glad to see another on here).  If you look back on this thread you can see some of our opinions of where we may be heading.  After some dark years a light may be approaching.  Your guy Beal is a part of that.

Which brings me to this ... see what we can do after we got rid of the guys who were shelfish, didn't know how to play the game, were, well, as advertised as knuckleheads .... I really think there's a lot to the fact that once Blatche, Young, Crawford, and McGee were all gone... we started to play better and are winning more often than at any point where those four were considered part of the core.
Props to Ernie for the purge that many of us on here were calling for.  Now let's see what randy can do, he finally has a team that can be coached.

These last two were pretty tough losses, but on the positive side, it's apparent now that Bradley Beal is going to be a star.  I'm tuning in now just to watch this kid play.  He's not particularly flashy, but he's playing really well and his shot is living up to the hype.

I'll watch tonight.  If we have improved as much as we would like to think we have, then a struggling 76er team should be handled at home.  We do owe them some payback also.  Wall's due for a big one.

A mix of good and bad ... but a win ... it is nice to be winning these, not too long ago we were not winning these.

Okafor was a beast on the boards... and our outside shooting was on, good thing because theirs was also.

Our second team wasn't very good and if you noticed when they went in, we had a lead and it got much closer when it was second team time.  I wish we used temple as the backup point over AJ.  And i am offically done with Vesley.  Yeah if you look at the highlights you get a couple nice buckets from him.  But in the first half his defensive mistakes almost singlehandedly erased an 8 point lead.  And 28% from the line?? really??  Can that get better?  Yeah, but let's be honest .. how much better?  If any takers out there i would bite.  Even for a pick at the end of the 2nd round.  I would rather singleton in there along with kevin for our backup 4-5.  At least singleton will play d, and pretty well.

We almost blew it in the end.  As I've noticed before when it becomes cruch time in games like this Wall transforms from a solid point guard doing a good job of running the show, to being a guy trying too hard to be the end all be all.  It almost cost us tonight.  However he did gather himself in the last minute and made some good decisions then, and hit the dagger by getting himself into position for a shot he hits on well.  So i gotta give him credit for that.

Hope Beal is OK.  Looked to be a sprain, hope that's all it is.  They happen often in basketball, and if that is what it is I'm sure he will be back before too long.

Go wiz.
