I heard the other day that Beau Bennett is either back from his injury or will be back this weekend. So there is another option for the future. But he seems to get banged up a lot.

If you would have told me that in this stretch of 8 of the first 12 games to start the season that were on the road the Penguins would have won 8 of those 12 games overall I think everybody on here would have taken it and ran with it. I really believe this Penguins team is going to take the next step finally again this season and get back to the Stanley Cup finals they are long overdue after having 3 pretty bad playoff seasons in a row. I too expect them to bring in somebody like Jerome Iginla to play with Crosby come playoff time which should make the Penguins that much tougher to beat come playoff time...

After 12 games, what would you have said if none of the players who have played with Neal and Geno even registered a point, besides Kennedy's 1 point in the second game of the season when he wasnt playing with them?

I think DB has to make a change for tomorrow, I dont know why he gave up on Jeffrey so quickly. I just dont understand why he never really played him for more than a game or 2 but we have Zach "Rudy" Boychuk playing half the season with Geno. Today he missed a wide open net when the Pens were up 1-0. It could have been a totally different game had someone who could actually finish played with Geno and Neal. It's great he can score goals and goals against the Islanders and Capitals. But whats going to happen when we play a good team in the playoffs who can shutdown Sid and Geno to an extent. Do you really think these other idiots can carry their own weight? Good luck.

But he is always in great position!  He is just snake bitten! He can still grow a couple of inches!

He's been given an opporunity and hasnt capitalized.

Has heard any explanation at all of why Orpik went down the runway before the game was over?  Was he ejected for saying something?  Was he just leaving early in disgust?  Was he injured?  The announcers never gave an explanation that I heard and I can't find a mention of it anywhere...

He was probably disgusted by Boysuck. Even Orpik would have buried that open net opportunity.

Just curious. Do you think anyone tells Malkin that his constant bonehead penalties are hurting the team. Does Sid ever say anything. Bylsma? Shero? Mario? Seriously, when is he going to get it. Its a pretty good blueprint to beat the Pens. Get under Malkins skin and go on the PP.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Orpik wasnt disgusted with the loss or the complete lack of discipline that cost the pens 2 points. No, it was boychuks performance. Because moar goals are more important than anything else.

Good question......

On another note, Morrow was just called up and might play his in his 1st NHL game tonight.....

Sea,

I was clearly being sarcastic. It's tough to win games when you only score 1 goal. We needed MOAR goals yesterday. You dont win many 1-0 games with Fleury in net...

Malkin's lack of discipline is terrible. He acts like such a bitch sometimes. We were only down 2 goals with 10 minutes left and the team just gave up.

Any news on the lineups tonight? Im crossing my fingers Boychuk is watching from the press box.

Joe Morrow was brought up today, Letang on IR. Hopefully not too long. But WBS Pens played last night and the night before, I dont he plays 3 nights consecutively.

I'm wondering is Marrow being called up has anything to do with Orpik. No clue why Orpik went to the looker room yesterday. He didn't get a 10 or a game misconduct. Did something happen where he got injured and no call and that's why he said something to the refs? We will find out tonight.

My post above should have said I "wouldn't expect" the Penguins to bring in a big name winger because of the cap for next year instead of "would expect". 3 little characters completely change what I was trying to say.

Orpik took the morning skate today. Martin did not. But it was an optional skate so there might not be anything to read into that as far as Morrow is concerned.

Orpik said today that he got a penalty for saying something to Clarkson, but there is nothing in the box score.  I'm wondering if the ref told him to get off the ice or something, and Orpik thought he was giving him a misconduct and left the ice.  Given how bad the officials were yesterday, it wouldn't surprise me in the least is there was a mis-communication there.  NHL officials aren't exactly that good to begin with, but yesterday's game was as bad as it gets.  Either way, Orpik thought he had been given the gate, which is why he left early.

Letang is still listed as "day-to-day".  They just put him on IR retroactive to Tuesday, so they could call up Morrow.  Letang can play on Wednesday ... not saying he will, but he is eligible.

It sounds like Martin is a game-time decision, which is why Morrow was called up.

The most concerning thing about yesterday's game is Malkin losing his cool and playing terribly in another "playoff-like" game.  Yesterday's game reminded me of the Flyers series and the Canadiens series all over again.  If there is a positive sign, it is that Sid was able to keep his composure throughout the game and including post-game, so there is hope that he has learned something from the debacle last year.

If you listen to the other team's broadcasts ... as opposed to just Steigy and Errey and co. who think that Crosby and Malkin do no wrong ... all the other teams think that they can beat the Pens simply by getting Crosby and Malkin off their games by getting under their skin.  So far, Malkin has yet to prove them wrong.
