What happened someone got bored and signed Giambi? Was he in retirement or what??????? There has to be some young farm club players to bring up to AAA minors to look at???

Minor league contracts what's wrong with that?
Giambi can be a good off the bench pinch hitter and good clubhouse leader.
Dice-K well he's no better than what ya have but he provides depth if he doesnt' make the team.
Trevor Bauer was a nice addition.
Masterson isn't as bad as you guys say.
Jimenez isn't that good (I think you guys were hosed on that deal)
Seriously improved lineup etc.
I think you will be more competitive than you think.

Minnesota is very bad and you will at least finish ahead of them.
I think you got a fighting shot a wild card birth for sure.

I had to look up how Giambi did last year.  He hit one home run in 89 at bats.


Somewhere I read or heard that Francona basically has Giambi on the opening day roster already.   Hard to believe he's the best option - his vaunted 'veteran presence' didn't seem to do much for the Rockies last year, as they lost 98 games.
