Anyone who hopes Pitt loses one of the next few games because they are "due" to lose one has probably not ever played competetive sports. Every win boosts confidence and any loss does not help get your team past being "due" for a loss. Wins either boost confidence and make you better or at least keep your confidence level while losses take away some or a lot and IMO never help a team. We can all rationalize at times going out of the conference tourney allows for some needed rest and preparation but I don't buy it.
That said, lets get 2 wins over MU and ND and then lets roll into the BE tourney ddue to win a few more!!! |

TVPitthoops-
This has been an ongoing discussion on this board for years. I keep asking, "how many guys on this team - coach or player - will ever walk onto the court and anticipate losing?' It never happens. They start a game expecting to finish a winner! Otherwise, they just shouldn't even be there..... |

Let me set the record straight I will never root for Pitt to lose any game period I want them to win every single one they play. But at the sametime I am also being realistic as well. My goal for Pitt is for them to get the Final Four and win the National Championship and in order for them to do that at this point if they are to go the rest of the entire season without losing a game or two they would probably have to win 15 or 16 in a row. They would have to win their final 6 regular season games, probably 3 or 4 games in the Big East Tournament and then 6 games in the NCCA Tournament. As much as we want that to happen we both probably know it wont happen. My point is I would rather Pitt lose a game or two before they get into the NCCA Tournament and then once they get into Postseason such as the BE Tourney and the NCCA Tourney they can get on a roll and make the run and win the games that really count. The bottom line is this program under Dixon has got to get to a Final Four at the very least at some point here within the next few seasons and take that next step. Until it does Pitt will always be looked at as just a good program that wins but cant get over that hump. I am one that believes that Dixon and this Pitt team will get over the hump and get to that Final Four at some point over the next 2-3 seasons. Maybe this year is that year seeing that there is a ton of parody in college basketball this season and there simply is not dominant team or clear cut favorite to win the National Championship...

Like I posted here yesterday I wasnt rooting for Pitt to lose I never do and never will but losing another game like they did to Marquette yesterday is definitely not the worst thing in the world. I would rather Pitt drop another game or two now in February then drop another game or two in March when things really matter and really start to count...
