Moss has about as much chance of getting in on the 1st ballot as I do of winning the Powerball jackpot.I would have said the same about Joe Namath and Lynn Swann ever getting in, but they did. Go buy your ticket...

I would have said the same about Joe Namath and Lynn Swann ever getting in, but they did. Go buy your ticket...And they have SB wins to back up their claims. Namath has an MVP. Plus, their numbers don't look nearly as good based on the era when they played. Moss has nothing, and his career playoff performance is very uninspiring. In fact, his worst playoff years came with Tom Brady as his QB. Pathetic. In 15 career playoff games, he had only 3 100 yard games (none since 2000) and only had 1 TD since 2004. Find me a 1st ballot HOFer that has Moss' poor playoff track record and his penchant for quitting on his teammates. I'll doubt you find one. In fact, I doubt you'll find many HOFers PERIOD that meet those criteria. The HOF is an honor Moss doesn't deserve, let alone even being a 1st ballot player. |

Because of your supposed moral high ground. Pfft. What moral highground? I don't care what Moss was or is like as a person. In fact, as much as I detest Terrell Owens, I think he's a HOFer, although he's burned so many bridges I doubt that ever happens. I detest Michael Irvin, and he was a poor excuse of a human being in his playing days, but he belonged in the HOF. But the fact is Moss freely admitted he only tried hard when he felt like it. That's a problem, and not something a HOF player would do. He has HOF physical skills. I don't deny that. But he's a disgrace to all the current HOFers who actually worked hard in their careers to achieve their greatness. Moss is a guy who was just so much more physically gifted than anyone else. He ran a deep route and either outran or outleaped defenders. That's all he did and all he was good for. There's nothing special about that other than the physical gifts he was born with. |

But he's a disgrace to all the current HOFers who actually worked hard in their careers to achieve their greatness. So because he didn't have to work as hard, he is somehow undeserving? Nah. That's all he did and all he was good for. There's nothing special about that other than the physical gifts he was born with. And those gifts are enough. |

So because he didn't have to work as hard, he is somehow undeserving? Nah.No, he had to work as hard. If he did, he wouldn't have flamed out so soon in his career, nor would he have had those 3 awful years in his prime. In fact, the only reason he's even in discussion now is because Tom Brady saved his career. Without Brady, Moss' worthless lazy butt is out on the street by age 30. If Moss, doesn't go to the Pats, then he washes out much quicker than he did. Brady's already proven he doesn't need Moss. But Moss clearly needed him. Notice how his numbers dipped significantly with Cassel? And those gifts are enough. To modify one of your statement: It's the Hall of Fame. Not the Hall of Athletic Ability. |

To modify one of your statement: It's the Hall of Fame. Not the Hall of Athletic Ability. Wait...did you just attempt to define "fame" as if it somehow separates those with great work ethic vs. those that just have the ability to do the darn thing. I try to be objective in my posting, but that's just ridiculous. LOOOOL. Every time I read this in my head I just start to laugh. What the heck are you trying to say here?? |

Wait...did you just attempt to define "fame" as if it somehow separates those with great work ethic vs. those that just have the ability to do the darn thing. I try to be objective in my posting, but that's just ridiculous.Nope, it doesn't define it. But please find me ONE HOFer who had a reputation for loafing and openly admitting that he only played when he felt like it. Even if Moss didn't admit it, it was evident in his play. If he wasn't involved in the play, he was disinterested. He didn't like contact and avoided it at all costs. He excelled at running essentially only ONE route, the deep route, which doesn't take any special skill. HOF caliber players bring it ALL THE TIME to the BEST of their abilities. Moss rarely did that. For sure great athletic ability is a part of that, and a rather large part as a matter of fact. But it is not enough on its own. A HOF player doesn't go to a new team at age 27 and then shit**** the bed for 2 years. Furthermore, a HOF player shouldn't have to have his career saved by a future HOFer. Also, if he was so vital to that offense, why was he cut 4 games into the season? |

To modify one of your statement: It's the Hall of Fame. Not the Hall of Athletic Ability.Nor is it the Hall of Work Ethic, although I like the way you argue. The athletic ability made him simply BETTER than his peers. Quite a bit better. The fact that he took plays off doesn't take away from his dominance. Gale Sayers is in and had limited years (5) to demonstrate how dominant he was. Had he played longer, and been less and less effective over time, would that make him ineligible in your view? |

He could've been so much better. Perhaps if he was better, he might have actually made a difference in his teams having more postseason success. Shouldn't a HOF player be at his best in the postseason, or at worst match his regular season production? You know, when teams actually need that dominance. His career playoff numbers are lame for someone who was supposedly such a dominant player. Gale Sayers is in and had limited years (5) to demonstrate how dominant he was. Had he played longer, and been less and less effective over time, would that make him ineligible in your view?Nope, read my line on playing to the best of their abilities. Plus, comparing a RB's short career to a WR's is totally different. Particularly when you consider the WR in debate didn't like contact and didn't have much wear and tear. |

1st ballot...no brainer.
if he doesnt get in on the 1st ballot because some guys in the media are pissed at him for being an a-hole, the NFL should change the voting process to get rid of said media guys. |

They should have done that the first time Chris Carter didn't make it.

Moss deserves the HOF. Just not first ballot. Let Brown get in first. Which that should happen, since we have at least 5 or 6 years left before that happens.

Moss did go across the middle....he blocked...he played hard on every play. Just watch the actual film. There is a great series on Youtube called the Randy Moss Career Defining MythBuster. Watch those videos. Pure footage of why he is a no brainer 1st ballot HOFer!

Watch those videos. Pure footage of why he is a no brainer 1st ballot HOFer!Moss ran fly patterns for the most part. Go deep and go up and catch the ball. That doesn't detract from how great he was by any means, but he didn't have the body to go over the middle, otherwise he would've been shattered years ago. |

Watch those videos. Pure footage of why he is a no brainer 1st ballot HOFer!He played long enough that there are plays to put in a highlight reel that show he blocked sometimes and ran some routes in the middle of the field. But that is not how he made his HoF bones. On the flipside, you could make a Hall of Shame video if you selected plays he took off, gave up on routes, missed blocking assignments, and acted like a fool. His numbers speak for themselves in terms of HoF worthiness. First ballot? Probably not. Too many negatives sprinkled in with the positives. |

as a Viking and Randy Moss fan, don't make him something he was not...He did block early in his career and when he went to New England, but he did take plays off and he ran the 9 route more often than not... |
