However, Flacco just became the most successful QB since he's been in the league (more wins than any other QB, and as many SB wins as any other QB since he's been in the league). This win puts him at #5 currently.By most wins are you meaning post season? Because Matt Ryan has 56 wins to Joes 54 during the regular season over the same span of time. It should also be noted that while Ben trails him in wins over that span 48 to 54 Ben has the higher winning percentage (only by a point though) .676 to .675. Post season during that time Joe has 9 wins with a percentage of .692 not bad but ben out does him percentage wise with a .714 (5 wins 2 losses). Eli of course has them both beat with an .800 winning percentage int he post season. so I wouldnt be so quick to push Joe up to number 5 like no one else is around him. IT should also be worth ntoing Ben has appeared in 2 super Bowls sinc eFlacco has been in the league and then there is the matter of Ben being 2-0 vs Flacco in the playoffs. Now dont get me wrong I am not trying tot hrow Ben into the Elite catagory but just pointing out that Flacco doesnt have a lock on being the best of the next tier of qbs.

Okay, Ryan passed him this year. It must be nice to play in the NFC South especially after Bountygate. Ryan can't win in the postseason though, so Flacco is definately ahead of him. I have Flacco jumping ahead of Eli, b/c he's made the playoffs and won 5 years in a row, and even though Eli made some plays, he's only made the playoffs 2x and won a game in only one of those appearances. Flacco actually has as many post season wins in that span as Eli and Roethlisberger combined. As far as Roethlisberger, I have Flacco ahead of him now, b/c in the past 2 years Flacco has won the div and beat Roethlisberger head to head the last 2 times they played. Flacco went 5-1 in the playoffs w/ a Superbowl win, while Roethlisberger is 0-1 (loss to Tebow, while Flacco beat Manning and Brady this year and was a Lee Evans drop away from beating him to go to the SB and provide a much tougher match up for the Giants last year). In addition to that Roethlisberger is very injury prone, so I'm seeing Flacco making the jump over him and Eli this year. We'll see what everyone looks like next year. |

I love it first you want to comnpare since he has been in the league and when shown a few guys are ahead of him you then change it to the last two years. I get it he is you guy you want him to b e better. Okay, Ryan passed him this year. It must be nice to play in the NFC South especially after Bountygate. The NFC south opponets of Ryan have a winning percentage of .500 over the last 5 years yeah .500 not so hot. The winning percentage of Flacco's AFC opponets during that same time .471 Yeah thats right Ryan has faced stiffer compitition than Flacco over that time. Yeah I know you thought the NFC south would have been weaker than the AFC and you will next say well the Browns drag the AFC North down and you would be right well in the NFC South Carolina has dragged the division down over the last 3 years they just have not done it to the extent the browns have. As far as Roethlisberger, I have Flacco ahead of him now, b/c in the past 2 years Flacco has won the div and beat Roethlisberger head to head the last 2 times they played.Great he is also 0-1 vs the Batch the last time they played. I say that mostley in fun but its also to show you cant just pick and choose the last meeting to make your point. , while Flacco beat Manning and Brady this year and was a Lee Evans drop away from beating him to go to the SB and provide a much tougher match up for the Giants last year) Being that you opened the door on if a could a should a you are also a blown coverage from not beating the Broncos and then sitting at home for the rest of the playoffs. Yes Evans should have caughtt hat ball last year and sent you to the SB just like this year you should have never got past the Broncos to eventually win the Super Bowl you did win. Look enjoy your win enjoy the fact people are debating is he or isnt he a elite but dont get carried away and try and make him the be all end all of the next tier of qbs under the elite guys. The field of next tier qbs is very crowded and may be getting even more crowded if the 3 rookies can repeat in thier sophmore seasons. |

Wow, usually a snapshot in time focuses more on the most recent. Yet the guy who points out what happened in the first 3 years of Flacco's career and plays the percentages game while leaving out in that span (yes, the entire 5 year span) that Flacco has as many postseason appearances and wins as Roethlisberger and Eli combined - lol The NFC south opponets of Ryan have a winning percentage of .500 over the last 5 years yeah .500 not so hot. The winning percentage of Flacco's AFC opponets during that same time .471 Yeah thats right Ryan has faced stiffer compitition than Flacco over that time. Yet, Ryan didn't pass Flacco in wins until this year when they were the only team in their division to not have a losing record (and again Mr. Nitpicky wants to bring up the past 3, probably due to Carolina being 12-4 in 2008 and 8-8 in 2009 while Cleveland hasn't had more than 5 wins in that span). Over that span the NFC South has had 2 teams in the postseason 3X while the A North has had at least 2 in all 5 years (3 in 2011). Regardless, its the postseason that takes Ryan out of the conversation. Great he is also 0-1 vs the Batch the last time they played. I say that mostley in fun but its also to show you cant just pick and choose the last meeting to make your point. I was talking head to head between the 2 guys in the conversation (and the unreliability of Roethlisberger's health I factored in to the equation of Flacco passing him). If you want to make an argument that Batch is the 5th best QB in the league, go for it, but hey, you guys won your SB and we won ours - lol Being that you opened the door on if a could a should a you are also a blown coverage from not beating the Broncos and then sitting at home for the rest of the playoffs. Yes Evans should have caughtt hat ball last year and sent you to the SB just like this year you should have never got past the Broncos to eventually win the Super Bowl you did win. Uh yeah, we heard that complaint before. The safety started cheating to the center of the field, the Flacco found Jones when he was getting open down the sidelines and hit him for the 70 yd td. Yeah, the safety couldn't recover and get back there in time, but that was a play made by Flacco - Hollah! Definitely enjoying the win, and definitely standing behind my reasoning for Flacco being #5 right now. |

You do relaize that the Ryan Flacco wins has gone back and fourth over the last 3 years right? after thier first two both were tied with 20. Ryan then took the lead in the third year only to have Joe take it in year 4 and Ryan grabbed it back in year 5. I get that Flacco holds the edge on Ryan because of the post season just wanting the record straight on the win totals.

For someone who wants to set the record straight, you sure are selective about when you do it - lol |

how am I being selective? First you wanted to say Flacco had the wins lead since he came in the league then when I pointed out ryan had it you wanted to say well he just took it from flacco this year implying flacco had it all of the previos 4 years I show you that isnt true either by giving you the results over all 5 years and Im being slective?

Oh, let's see these comments are coming from the same guy who brought up conference records and then acted like Carolina cancelled Cleveland out when the Panthers were 35-45 in that span and the Browns 23-57. That 12 win difference is pretty significant when it comes to division records (In addition to the Ravens always having at least one other playoff team as well). We can also add that the A North won the head to head 9-7 in 2010 with the Ravens being 3-0 against Falcons opponents. I just think the A North is a better overall division too regardless of stats. Sure, I didn't check the previous years, but Flacco was ahead last year (which is clearly) and that's all that I meant to imply. You're comparison of Cleveland to Carolina in regards to balancing out the divisional records was much more misleading (look at the stats above). I was merely guilty of forgetting about Ryans' regular season records b/c he's not even in the conversation for that #5 overall due to his postseason record. It's clear though that Flacco has more combined reg/ post season wins since he's been in the league by a pretty significant margin (as well as having just as many SB wins as any other QB in that time span). For the record I don't really have a problem with people being selective about stats. It's when you were making comments like "setting the record straight" calling other people out like they are trying to be deceptive. I was just pointing out that you're selective b/c you were doing the same thing yourself. |
