Heard it was a torn acl but haven't read anything from UK such a awful thing to happen.

Luckily, a torn ACL today isn't as damaging to a career in athletics as it used to be, even for players that rely on explosive movement as evidenced by players like Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles in the NFL this year.  While an ACL injury would end his season, it could be worse.
