I know he just there until Hartnell comes back,but maybe someone else will go down or matbe the coach can work him in..make the last line or two each sitting a game ..short season they only miss about four to keep them young legs somewhat ready for the first round at least in the playoffs.

I don't think he meant to hurt him either.  I think he instinctively tried to use his foot to pin Karlsson against the boards and it ended up going bad.

BUT.... he has a disgusting history.  Lots of suspensions and intent to injure on his record.  Combine that with Karlson being hurt which Shanny always takes into consideration and the fact he intentionally used his foot to pin the guy and Cooke might be in big trouble.

We'll see....

It looks like the NHL will not suspend him, right move imo. If anyone else did it it wouldn't even be question, but it's hard to give Cooke the benefit of the doubt. But unless he is some kind of Canadian ninja I'm not sure how he could land right on the achilles while looking in the complete opposite direction.

But regardless, it is still a shame. Karlsson is one of the NHL's best young Stars.

There have been too many brutal cuts in the NHL.  (Buffalo's goalie literally came close to death back in the 80's after getting his neck gashed.)  This, like other incidents, clearly seems to be a tragic accident, and I will be very surprised if Shanny lowers the boom on Neal.  I am sure he feels horrible about it, but hockey players know the risks.  I do not like the Sens, but no one likes to see this happen to any player.

My best wishes to Karlsson for as speedy a recovery as possible.

I'm posting this link in two places.   This will explain why people hate Cooke and why he DESERVES TO BE HATED !!!  Forget the 4 suspensions.  Look at the knee to knee hits.  Look at what he did to Osgood and tell me it was an accident.

Just yesterday I read a couple comments from Babcock.  He said he spoke with both Bertuzzi and Helm the day prior.  Babcock said Bert wasn't doing well and by my interpretation of what I've read Bert is having a very difficult time.   Not good.
