It's a smart move. If Kelly is indeed gonna go with the Oregon read option, Vick will get murdered quickly & with Dixon as backup they won't have to change the offense when it happens. Or he might see the field on some specialty plays like Harbaugh did with Kaepernick & the Jets failed to do with Tebow. If nothing else he can be the tackling dummy in practice on weeks where Philly plays mobile QBs.
