The last 5 min of the game the refs made all the calls for the Ravens. Also throw in the Punt return that was clear that it was a hold. Overall it was a bad job by the refs and it went the ravens side a little bit more. Purguy, I was going to leave this one alone and then you posted. A Clear hold on the Punt Return in which the Ravens Punter went out of bounds for that saftey? Which would have resulted in...a safety? Okay, it should have been called but the end result was the same. Also if ALL the calls had gone the Ravens way, there would have been an unecessary roughness call when your guy hit Flacco 5 yards out of bounds. Finally, regading the 4th down play look again my friends, contact is initiated by the wide reciever at the 1 yard line and is carried into the goal line . I have read your previous posts and it is clear to me that these answers won't satisfy you, but I will state them never the less. Once again, the 49ers had a great year, Congratulations to them and their fans. Cheers, MDFan Fan of the World Champion Baltimore Ravens |

MD you are 100% wrong. best part u name 1 play. We named about 5. Also u are going back and forth. They need to call it both ways. You said they need to be consistent. Well that is what we wanted. You called it on us call it on the Ravens and the Ravens Hold/Pi was alot easier to call. Raven player Clearly Held Crabtree. I posted evidence. Go to youtube you will see it. Look congrats on the game and I never said the 49ers would of won the game because u are right maybe Flacco leads them down the Field. All Im saying that it was clear that the refs were calling plays that help the Ravens more. Overall refs were bad for both teams but the last 5 min it went all Ravens. Like I said I named about 4-5 plays in the last 5 min that helped the Ravens.
NFL wanted Ray to get his title and Flacco to become elite. |

MD,
Ravens fans go back to the late hit out of bounds. Got it. I understand that probably should have been called. Then we argue about Williams and his presence in the game after hitting a ref. Got that. I am talking about the way that plays were in the defensive backfield. That was my only concern. A late hit on a QB, a guy pushing a ref are not plays in the defensive backfield. Consistency, or inconsistency, in how the refs making calls in the defensive backfield were done is my only gripe. Overall, the refs were pathetic for BOTH sides, and the NFL needs to stop putting the Super Bowl in the hands of guys who can't do the job. Head referee Jerome Boger had his scores retabulated several times during the season, with his scores being raised each and every time. Here is a tidbit of great information about Boger... Boger was chosen to be the referee of [Super Bowl XLVII], held at the [Mercedes-Benz Superdome] in [New Orleans] on February 3, 2013, only the second African-American to do so behind [Mike Carey] five years earlier. His selection sparked some controversy: According to Eric Adelson of [Yahoo! Sports], several other NFL officials questioned the leagues' officiating department's grading process, claiming that all of Boger's downgrades during the season were reversed. I certainly hope this was not a race issue. And if it was, then I have no problem seeing Mike Carey over and over again. He's one of the best in the NFL. And if it was, then shame on the NFL. I thought that this was an appropriate passage from writer Ray Ratto, prior to the Super Bowl. I think it sums up everything best. It is a perfect statement that there was problem BEFORE the game had ever even played. Our point here is that there is no way of telling whether Jerome Boger is or isn’t the right man for the job until he and his crew screw it up. And that the same could be said for Gene Steratore’s, or Tony Corrente’s, or Cleve Blakeman’s. A good call is a festival of hope in a hopeless situation. And if grades got changed to honor an unworthy official, well, league offices have been messing with officiating in all sports, on the idiotic and largely disproven theory that they know better than the people who actually do it. They don’t. They can’t. And they want it anyway. They’re stupid that way. All we know is this: if Boger’s crew drops a whopper at some point that offends the 49ers, Jim Harbaugh will lose his dome. He’ll throw a hat, he’ll jump with his knees hitting his chest, he’ll slam down his headset, he’ll carpet-F-bomb someone’s ears. And we as a nation will be all the better for it. In the immortal words of both Bill Raftery and Bo Diddley, “Send It In, Jerome.” |
