The Dodgers have Capuano, Harang and Lilly potentially on the trading block. I know teams within the same Division typically don't like to deal with each other, but there might be a fit there.
Frankly, Fences, I think the pitching machines might be a better idea. |

Silas, when I saw that Capuano, Harang and Lilly were your extra starters I couldn't believe it considering we only had 4 starters and none of them were as good as those 3 have been in the past. I thought a trade would be a great idea except for the Dodgers being in our division and the Rockies wouldn't be willing to pay their contracts. Yet, a veteran starter is still what we need and I am with Fences in wanting to smash things because the Rockies didn't address our primary need in the offseason.

Not only did they not address the greatest need in the off season, but they failed to do so in an offseason following a year in which the Rox tied for 2nd in the NL in runs scored, and 7th overall. In other words, the pitching completely undermined a fantastic offensive season for the Rockies. This team can score, but it isn't going to matter at all if they can't pitch and play defense. My only hope for this season is if the staff they have simply surprises everyone. Maybe Francis or De La Rosa can become anchors on the staff, and Chacin can push his game to the next level. But as of now I have no reason to expect these things.
What can you do? Viva la Resistance! |

I'm sorry, I accident pulled up the 2011 standings for the Rockies' offensive rankings. But I was still darn close. The team was 3rd in runs scored in the NL, and 6th overall. The premise stands: the pitching undermined a great offensive season for the Rockies.

The way pitching went last season, I agree. I am all for starting the pitching machine.
